For all those who have expressed frustration at price increases

Sorry, mate - Apple Music offered Hi-Fi (they call it Spatial Audio, but hey, it's Apple) AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to all users. Due to inflation, they did increase prices too - to the amount of one - ONE - dollar. The "We're a small company" argument also does not fly, seeing as one of Deezer's major shareholders is Warner Music. This price hike is absurd, greedy and obscene. Before it gets into effect (mid-January, in my case) I'll be looking around and be gone. ASAP.

I have both Deezer and Apple music, I do notice once Apple went lossless the quality of playback became better however overall I am used to the features of Deezer (used Apple for a few years prior to Deezer), thus I will stay with Deezer for the time being. The market is more than just money sometimes.

The price increased by 470% for members in the Philippines, beyond a joke!

It's both ridiculous and a scandal, really. From what I've been reading, Deezer lost at least 300.000 users this year, but managed to increase its earnings. So the strategy is working (at least for now), but I'm not having it and neither are many others, it would seem - good thing I've kept and used my Apple Music sub for all this time. I now got lossless AM and Tidal Hi-Fi and their combined cost is still lower than what Deezer would want me to cough up come January. I had absolutely no second thoughts cancelling. Farewell, Deez, and enjoy your luxury bankruptcy!

Nothing incremental about this, how infuriating!

I've already mentioned their revenues increased. Not the biggest player in the game, though, nor the most stable of services, and at the rate they're bleeding users, there'll be very few left to suck dry. And play for suckers. But do, by all means, enjoy the ride.

Communication from Deezer support and community guys were weird. I was frustrated, because price has been increased almost twice.

But noone told me you should change your subscription from monthly to annual. You can safe three month, so increase of price isn't so bad.

I’ve been using Deezer for some time now. And the increase of 1 euro here didn’t make me switch to another streaming service. But I was a bit curious, so I did try Spotify again, YouTube Music and even Amazon Music.

Well now, even when trying those other music streaming services, I did return to Deezer. It’s the complete package that makes it interesting for me. The app, the website, the layout, the simplicity how Deezer works and of course the HiFi option is a big PLUS for me.

Is it expensive? I don’t think so. Instead of a monthly subscription I switched to an annual subscription, with makes the price 8,24 and that’s with HiFi.

I’m hoping that more people are going to see the benefits of Deezer instead of the big green giant streamer., ‘cause there is more than the green giant.

I should maybe add I loathe the green giant and was quite content with Deezer. But even some of the support people I've contacted admitted that ditching regional prices is, in some parts of the world, obscene. As I was saying, why would I be paying a bigger amount for a forced upon Hi-Fi tier than Apple Music and Tidal COMBINED? Just because a glorified accountant thought people will be too weary to switch? Think again.

Dude… the Philippines went from 129PHP to approx 617PHP per month…. WTF are you on about? As long as it doesn’t affect you directly, who gives a fk about the way they treat other customers???

You can’t apply a blanket fee across a world of significantly different economies. Sustainable for Deezer, sure. Fkn impossible for customers in poorer countries. How can you respect yourself promoting Deezer under this new regime?

Do you have alternative providers of music streaming? Yes? Then use them.

Deezer gets rid of the weak markets and focuses on the big markets. This is a fact and is clear from the corporate reports.

Morally questionable (from the point of view of the weak markets), but not uncommon in business terms.

Despite it being a standard way of doing business, it’s sh!tfull. I acknowledge you recognised that, but why choose not to give a damn?

As if they couldn’t afford to charge equitable prices, and simply absorb those costs by achieving economies of scale in the richer countries. Whilst it’s not pure profit maximisation and cost minimisation in the short-term (hard to perfectly achieve both simultaneously mind you), it could very well worked out for them in the long-run. Especially in terms of the reputational risk they faced in making this decision.

Let’s see if the cohort of subscribers comprise more of self-interest pr!cks, or people who are actually conscious of the wider implications of their complicity. Time will ultimately tell.

What does your example have to do with the relationship between service providers and customers?

You interpret things into it that simply don't fit.

A regime in the office refers to employer (boss) and employees.

You also act as if you are forced to use deezer and pay dearly.

NO, you don't have to use deezer!

Again:
If a provider of a thing/goods/service changes the conditions for the customer so drastically, the customer has to look for alternatives. If the strategy works, it's good for the provider and the shareholders. If not, the provider will ask for more humane prices again.

That is free market economy.

Chill out guys.

In Romania you more than doubled the price for 4.99 to 10.99 Euro and I don’t need the extra quality.
Unsubscribed until you provide a reasonable price for a service that I barely used but it was sometimes nice to have when I wanted to listen some french music with lyrics.

Sorry to see you go. I don’t know what the streaming market is like in Romania, but here in the US, deezer’s pricing and feature set is competitive, and all other streamers (including Spotify) have recently raised their prices, but I hope you find a service that meets your needs (and your budget).
