Just got Deezer a few days ago. I’ve been testing it out and it’s been great aside from a few quirks. One of which is when connected to my car via bluetooth, the app will automatically go on repeat and when I try to turn off repeat it glitches and puts on shuffle and repeat. Wondering if this is a known issue with a workaround because I couldn’t figure out how to get it to normal play mode consistently. Pressing the repeat icon should definitely not alter the shuffle mode state.

iPhone 13 mini running newest Deezer on iOS 15.7.1 via Bluetooth in a 2017 Jetta SE

The same with iPhone and Ford. This issue has been mentioned in community long time ago. But no one care.

Damn it. Thanks for letting me know.

Not liking what I am seeing in these Deezer forums. Reminds me of Spotify not fixing things for years, if ever

Hey, sorry about that, could you try connecting your Deezer to your Car Entertainment System

or to the Waze app?

Hi Yula, I specifically do not do either of those things on purpose. I like my devices to be independent not enmeshed and confusing. Would this be for trouble shooting or a suggestion for how to use the app in the car?

I’ve had this issue, as well. No one seems to fix anything. There are no release notes, no mentions of improvements or fixes. Deezer seems to be in a derelict state, in damage control mode: raising prices but nothing else.

Hi @awsteenoh,

Sorry to hear you are having this experience. To connected Deezer app to the car via Bluetooth I suggest you connect Deezer app via  Mirror or CarPlay.

To setup the CarPlay, please follow this steps:

-Start your car, then make sure Siri is turned on.
-Connect your iPhone to your car:
-If your car supports CarPlay with a USB cable, plug in your iPhone using the car's USB port. The USB port may be labelled with a CarPlay icon or a smartphone icon. Make sure you use an Apple Lightning to USB cable.
-If your car supports CarPlay both wirelessly and with a USB cable, plug in your iPhone to the car's USB port. You'll receive an alert on your iPhone that will offer to connect you wirelessly during your next drives.
-If your car only supports wireless CarPlay, press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel. Make sure your stereo is in wireless or Bluetooth mode. Then on your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on. Then go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and select your car. -Check the manual that came with your car for more information.
-Find out more about CarPlay and how to change the map view in CarPlay.

Let me know  if you need any further help.

Thanks

Same here. Owner of a Mercedes C-Class without Carplay or Android Auto support. Whenever I play music via Bluetooth, Deezer automatically puts the playlist in REPEAT mode. I always have to turn off REPEAT mode before I drive. Worst of all is when Google Maps or Apple Maps gives voice instructions: after each instruction, Deezer goes back to REPEAT mode...

The workaround for now is to disable voice instructions in Google Maps or Apple Maps (which I don't mind).

Please, Deezer team, fix this annoying bug.

hello there @ppahv @EpsilonSigma @awsteenoh

i understand your frustration, not everyone has CarPlay and some must rely on a bluetooth connection. i have highlighted the issue with the current community manager.

Hi @ppahv, thanks for message.
I already shared your information with our developers and as soon I have more information I will let you know.
Nevertheless, can you give me the following details:
• What's the brand and model of the device you are having problems with?
• What's the version of the operating system (Android, iOS, Windows or Mac) installed on your device?
• If you're using our app, what's the Deezer version installed on your device?
Also have you done any troubleshooting?

Hello,

Thanks for your quick reply!

Here are the answers to your questions;

- iPhone 12 ;
- iOs 16.5.1 (c);
- Deezer 9.43.0.4.

I've tried troubleshooting the issue, but to no avail. Deezer automatically switches to REPEAT mode when I connect my iPhone via Bluetooth to my car (which doesn't support Carplay).

REPEAT mode returns every time a navigation app gives voice instructions. This can be prevented by disabling voice guidance in the navigation app.

However, this doesn't solve the problem of Deezer going into REPEAT mode as soon as you connect your phone to the car via Bluetooth.

Hi @ppahv, thanks for the details and sorry that steps didn’t work.

After doing some research, I have found another user, that owns same brand of car, with the same issue.

We want to investigate deeper, so our engineers  asked if you could try to get info about the media you connect to:

  • model and brand of the media center
  • version of the Bluetooth
  • year of the car
  • any other information relevant regarding the media center

Also a side question, you don’t have any other option to connect to your car media center? If you have, do you have the same issue?

Finally, if you connect to another Bluetooth device (earphones, speaker, … ) do you have the same problem?

Thank you for your reply.

Here are the answers to your questions:

- Mercedes C-Class C200 / Mercedes Infotainment (I couldn't find a specific name in the manual). According to my Bluetooth devices list on my phone, the media centre is recognised as MB Bluetooth. But it's clearly not MBUX since it's equipped with later models (2020 onwards);
- I don't know the Bluetooth version (it's not mentioned anywhere in the manual or in the media centre settings);
- 2017;
- This media centre doesn't support Carplay.

I can connect my phone to the media centre via USB. However, for some reason I don't know, the media centre can't play anything from my phone when it's connected via USB. REPEAT mode doesn't activate when I try to play a track while it's connected via USB (though no sound comes out of the loudspeakers even when volume is high).

I don't have this problem when playing from other Bluetooth speakers (JBL Go, Samsung soundbar) or headphones.

Hope this helps!

Hi  @ppahv thanks for the details shared.

I have just shared them with our developers. Now, it is 🤞🏽 that they can find a solution for this case.

As soon as I hear from them, I will let you know.
