Hi everyone,
Our developers confirmed they're interested in developing this integration, however, we can only consider it after updating our existing SDKs - which is a project undergoing during the course of 2021. Stay tuned for further updates by subscribing to the topic, if you haven't done so. Thank you for your support!

Thank you for your feedback and support. We've been discussing this with our product managers and we have never been contacted by Roon about an integration - so this isn't on the cards for the foreseeable future. We're working on a new Chromecast integration which will enable the discovery of new devices - and this could help you as Roon users too đđź

reading the post of Danny Dulai Roon Labs: COO (see https://community.roonlabs.com/t/deezer-integration/9073/73) there was a contact at least several years ago.
Looking at this Deezer thread and at the Roon thread (see https://community.roonlabs.com/t/deezer-integration/9073/73), there are many users out there, on both sides, who would strongly support an integration / interface between Deezer and Roon.
Please rethink your mid-term product strategy regarding Roon.

Please make integration with Roon possible! Than I will be Deezer Hifi customer! At his moment Roon has TIDAL Hifi and Qbuz high-res integration but I prefer Deezer Hifi...

Hi there
Thank you for the reference. I've passed it to our product managers. We're not opposed to an integration with them, and as I could see from Danny's reply, it's on their business team to refresh the contact with Deezer after so many years. We're also not exclusive to Sonos anymore. And developers from other companies can have the support of ours and develop their own app using our resources, like many. That's what probably happened in the past :thumbsup_tone2:

A key feature of Roon for me is tags: if tags were available in Deezer Iâm not sure Iâd ask for Deezer â Roon integration.
I have Roon and Tidal (as well as Deezer Hifi), itâs so easy to tag an new album with a tag like âlisten_tonightâ for future references. I feel limited in Deezer, the only customs I can do are likes and download (I use the download feature for albums/tracks I want to âlisten tonightâ)

Tags is something we've been discussing about for quite some time now,

Roon 1.7 (Valence) just came out.
Most of the new features are around the streaming apps. Roonlab claims the ânew releases for youâ and ârecommended for youâ features are better that what the streaming apps are proposing.

I bet this is accurate but canât test it since Deezer does not integrate with Roon yet. A pity.
We see that Roon has put more emphasis on streaming music than on userâs own library. May be it is time for Deezer to reconnect with RoonLab and build a partnership.
Whoâs silly enough to ignore a potential additional source of revenue ? :)

Clear. But I also understood that you expect Roonlabs to make the next move towards integration. Is this still correct?

Am I the only person that thinks this stance is ridiculous? Drop a dime and contact Roon. Do you think youâll look weak by contacting them or something? Is this some sort of spat between senior management at the two companies? This attitude is childish.

⌠Drop a dime and contact Roon. ...
I support this statement, but it also applies to Roon Labs (see https://community.roonlabs.com/t/deezer-support-request/1114/92?u=munich)

Iâm switching to Tidal, because lack of this Roon compatibility. You some ways seem to be a little stubborn and/or slow on things (this topic, Hi-Fi family plan, lack of MQA altough the agreement is over 2 years old, lack of direct chromecast support W10...). That is a big shame, because per se Deezer is the best music streaming service.

Adding my Vote to the crowd, You guys should probably explore the Roon/Deezer integration option, it is benefecial from both poitns of view (for the users to integrate all their services in one place, and for Deezer to get more exposure and have another advantage over Spotify/Apple music which are eating all your market shares...)

As an alternative to Roon integration can we at least have the possibility of adding our own music files in higher quality than MP3? It is a bit of a letdown that a Deezer Hifi subscription does not support higher quality files.
