Hi

It would be nice to have the sorting preference on artist pages be “sticky”. For example I prefer releases to be sorted by “Release date”, but the default appears to be by “Most played”. When I change the setting from the drop-down, it only applies within the current session, for example if I refresh the tab (I use the web player primarily) the sorting has reverted back to “Most played”. The ideal way to implement this in my opinion would be to either have an option in the user’s settings/preferences page where the preferred sorting can be selected, and this would be default across all artist pages for the logged in user, with the dropdown giving the option to override on an ad-hoc basis, or just remember the selected option from the drop-down via a cookie or something. Don’t know which approach is more viable but either way it would be better than having to manually change the sorting every time as it is now, which is rather annoying.

Thanks

100% agree.  I made a similar topic a few weeks ago.

Yes, I also agree.

Hi @Orkan @geo79 @awesomemac! Thanks for bringing this up!

I’ve already forwarded your feedback to our tech team so they can take a look.

I’ll keep you posted if there are any updates.

Yes, this would be so helpful!

This is much needed.

As an aside - The switch to a “Most Played” sorting option for an artists discography is not very useful. Most people engage with tracks outside of the context of album releases, so mapping the number of plays for individual tracks to the display order of albums is a leap.
