It would be good to have the ability to browse and listen without having an effect on FLOW.

Since the Flow algorithm is said to "work in real time" and is affected by every track played, I would like to be able to listen without Flow listening too. So I can go on a discovery binge, or look up an unknown artist, or perhaps play music outside my normal selection for a party, etc etc.

Google music's "I'm Feeling lucky" function became unusable once contaminated with my son's nursery ryhmes and wiggles playlists. Having made the move to Deezer I'm playing it safe by searching via youtube and Spotify - Spotify having "Private session" already in place.

Hi

I agree and think an incognito mode might work. Disliking individual songs would be a pain if you’re listening to entire album or other person’s playlist. Also, I have things like kids’ parties etc that I certainly don’t want to affect my flow.

My suggestion is to allow the user to optionally set what is used for input to flow. I would like it to only be based on my favourites and certain playlists, for example.

I wonder if there are any other solutions / ideas?

Thanks

Jim

This kind of feedback had to come from you, guys @hpguru @Loading @Jim Barton, our community aces!

I've moved it here so that you can vote for the idea above. This a really good suggestion, I just wanted more users to support it so that we can get it prioritised :v_tone2:

try now, please ;)

Count me on this wish list as well.  Just because I play “Baby Shark” on the way to Kindergarten with my daughter doesn’t mean I want to listen to it while working out at the gym.

That’s a great feature and IDK how this is a year old suggestion not implemented yet.

I often have this problem when I use deezer on a travel, I have more people in the car, and we often listen to other genres of music (those of which could cease to exist for me); and then, boom, it completely contaminates the Flow for a really long time.

Good suggestion.
I don’t really use Flow, but looking at my end of year stuff it’s obvious it’s all skewed by bedtime classical and/or ambient favourites and unfit to share :grinning:

I need this. Sometimes I listen rap and hip hop music which I do not want to affct flow.

Just to let you know that we love this idea and we're still considering implement it :)

I’m surprised there are only 30 upvotes for this.

@Rafael. Any updates on this? New Deezer user, and already seeing my Flow recommendations get dominated by genres in my gym playlist.

Just adding that Spotify calls this “private session” which you can enable in any of their apps. As far as I remember, it will disable itself after a few hours automatically if you don’t do that manually.

Also scrobbling to Last.fm is disabled then which is a bit annoying with the internal Deezer scrobbling option that scrobbles everything, even after a few seconds if you skip a song, so it affects your precious Last.fm recommendations.

Hello everyone! 🖐🏼

We are starting a big Flow rework, to improve the experience and satisfy your needs. 💥

We might not add exactly this feature, but we are trying to find a way to improve Flow in the best possible way.

This requires a lot of work and mostly, a lot of testing!

We have created this group  for users who want to help us, you feedback is crucial for us.

Join the group, we need YOU!

5 years ago and still nothing?
This is why I always have to use a friends’ Spotify at parties or get togethers. I listen to one album I like that is different from my normal interest and suddenly my flow is destroyed for weeks.

Yeah, Deezer takes much too much time to implement simple features. You get always something like “we love this idea” and then nothing ever happens. Already considering going back to Spotify. This is just not a good service.
