Linux needs a native client for Deezer!

I know that exist a client for Windows and Mac, but I can't to find any one for Linux. In my opinion the web version es pretty bad and the company can develop a port for their client.
I think that is important to cover all the platforms for all the users.

I recently created an Ubuntu script to install Deezer based on the fantastic work done by IlyaGulya and SibrenVasse on an AUR package for Arch Linux. It should work on Debian too since Ubuntu is based on Debian, but I haven't tested it.

You can view instructions on how to install it here https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer. It's not at all official and isn't guaranteed to work with future Deezer versions but it's what I am now using.

I'm not sure why Deezer hasn't added support for Linux yet considering the Deezer desktop app for windows is an Electron app and runs just fine on Linux with a few minor tweaks.

Hopefully this helps my fellow Ubuntu users.

I was a little harsh earlier in this topic, but thanks to the AUR package for ArchLinux I find Deezer the service that follows the right path. I appreciate, that even though your software was not released for linux officialy, it is possible to run it there. You have open API, which is great. HiFi is available everywhere and now it is cheaper than in other services in my country. Great job guys!

I want to share some steps I used to get Deezer work as app on Raspberry PI Linux by using Chromium.

Steps are in the attachment. I think with small adjustment they would work on any other Linux distro.

I am using /tmp for cache for the sake of speed becuase PI’s root disk is slow (my /tmp is mounted as tmpfs), but you don’t have to set those switches, then your cache is default ~/.cache.

Also my link is https://www.deezer.com/hr (hr=croatia). Yours can be your country code. Or whatever URL opens when you login in any browser in deezer.com.

Browser player is not good for pc. I will use Spotify till linux client appear, meh!

tic tac, I am waiting still. I am gonna stay 1 more month until I am going to spotify again.

Not only for linux support but there is less music than in spotify in my country( spain) So.. may be I am going to go to spotify until deezer client appears to gives them another opportunity
