Needs an update from @Rudi on progress here. Love Deezer but if it's not gonna work right in the car, I can't keep it. Other options are just as good AND work flawlessly in the tesla

Status is not for now, is there any planning about when it will be implemented?

hello @nathan46 , @Freek , and @asi

I can certainly empathize with the Tesla owners (although not one myself), and also understand just how many of you there are, and how many more will be in the future. It seems as though this would be a desirable market to tap into.

That said, I think we all understand the nature of Tesla, and its self-sufficiency, and I have to wonder, purely out of speculation, if this is something on their side, as with CarPlay.

Tests have shown the streaming bitrate for the Tesla in-car Spotify app to be variable, averaging around 128 to 160kbps, not exactly the quality deezer is shooting for.

Tidal is similarly nerfed when streaming over cellular, dropping to a lossy stream. Again, as I don’t have a Tesla, I can’t speak to the quality of either service in the car.

When I read about it online, it seems as if many people use bluetooth in their Teslas, because they aren’t happy with the native Tesla apps. In the absence of CarPlay, or a native app that supports hifi, that's probably the route I would go as well, and just stream deezer from my phone.

anyway, @Rudi is long gone, he is no longer a part of the deezer team. Maybe one of the current Community Managers will chime in. Thanks for the chat.

lossy stream?

firstly: have you heard of buffering

and

secondly: some great new audio freely available codecs that improve data loss on unreliable networks?

Both Apple Music and Spotify (even the free version) run well without any loss and the sound quality is great, especially the Apple one.

Thank you for your support. We're keen to develop more integrations, including this one, but it isn't on the cards for now.

This may change if we gather more votes on this idea :relaxed:

Hi @Rudi

how many votes do you neeed? I’ven a Deezer user since 2017 with a family plan. If there’s no interest in fixing issues with the lg soundbars w/chromecast support and now with no plans for make an app for Tesla, I think it’s time to say goodbye and keep only Apple Music.

I hope you can change your mind and make an app for Tesla, believe you won’t regret it.

apologize for the necropost, I am just now seeing this, but it gave me such a chuckle that I had to respond.

you sound massively unfamiliar with the basic concepts of audio streaming, and I have neither the energy nor the inclination to educate you, but do yourself a favor and at least familiarize yourself with the idea of lossless vs. lossy audio before you attempt to (rudely) school someone online.

cheers

hey @CrisCD

Rudi hasn’t been with deezer for years now and, based on what I’ve seen and heard, it doesn’t appear that plans are underway for a deezer integration anytime soon. (I could absolutely be incorrect here, maybe one of the current Community Managers will weigh in).

I responded above as to why I don’t think that matters, but I’m not a Tesla owner and everyone’s needs are different.

Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Tidal lowers the price and has an app available in Tesla!  It’s time for Deezer to also have an app for Tesla now!

This is completely out of control. Tesla had the highest selling car in the united states last year. Deezer is so far behind with this. Almost all there competitors have a Tesla app.

Hope you will build it I'm close to switch family subscription to Spotify even if we clearly prefer Deezer for flow... But no car integration is painful.

Would be by far the best thing to add right now, many of my friends with tesla like deezer but are waiting for this addition since its a big thing for them and other tesla drivers in general. Hope it’s locked in as a feature to be added soon.
I’m personally keeping my subscription since deezer is so good, but if it’s not possible for the next multiple months i might have to switch until it gets added.  Do you know if its in the plans of 2024 @Leonídia.Deezer thank you  👍

Same story here; Joined Deezer in 2018 when I got a BMW with integrated Deezer, been on a full family plan now for years. Due to move to a Tesla in September so no integrated Deezer will require a family move over to another service.

Surely this has to be getting close to being resolved, as others have said Deezer are way behind on this one.

It’s time to open this discussion again. Now tidal, Apple Music, YouTube music is activated on Teslas so now it’s really time for Deezer to show them how it shall be done.

Agreed. Deezer is missing out and late to the party. ALL competitors are available on Tesla. What’s wrong with this???

Just an update for you guys: Tesla always had a vehicle account for Spotify included in their Premium Connectivity subscription. As of December 1st this will no longer be included. It means that in order to have music available through the infotainment system every Tesla driver now needs to get a subscription to one of the available music streaming services. There are over 5 million Tesla's on the road, and at least 2 million will be added each year at the current pace (which will accelerate as they introduce more models). The Model Y is the best selling car in the world. Soon there will be tens of millions of Tesla's driving around and many will like to have a a music streaming service in there.

Don't shoot yourselves in the foot by passing on this rather big market.

Whereas up to now I could justify keeping Deezer with my mobile phone service and use thw complementary Spotify account in the car, I'm obviously not going to have two music streaming subscriptions…

My mobile contract is up for renewal next month, and unless Deezer is available in the Tesla, I'll have switch to another service.

Please note that several of your competitors are already available in the Tesla.

It would hurt me a little, I've had an account on Deezer for many years. But it is what it is.

I understand @HWS-9 and first of all I’d like to thank you for your support all these years.
I will pass the feedback and ask our devs if there is any discussion or work in progress, but I can’t guarantee that Deezer will be available on Tesla any time soon before you have to renew your subscription next month.
Thanks for your patience and I’ll give you an update soon

I can just confirm what @HWS-9 says. Until now, I had no need to use Deezer on my Tesla since Spotify would be “free” anyway. With December, 1. this will drastically change.

To continue playing music via the car itself I need some paid subscription. Deezer does not support it, so I have to switch to other services (Spotify, Youtube Music, Amazon Music).

I guess I am not the only one out there facing this issue.

+1 I would also prefer Deezer to Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube.

After several years of Deezer, I will have to cancel and switch to something else which will run on Tesla. I also used Spotify on Tesla, and now I will need a paid service to have streaming in Tesla, so makes no sense to have Deezer as well…..
