There should be no gap between tracks running into each other. This is a basic thing for the listeners experience.

I have a problem when it comes to listening certain kinds of records, specially conceptual albums such as The Wall by Pink Floyd, in which there are no spaces between the songs in the original recording. When I listen to it here through Deezer I come across a disturbing gap everytime a song finishes. Is there a way to avoid that?

Thank you.

@Jordi Mateu Soler I've merged your post into this topic. Please vote for this idea. We've already passed it on as one of our most voted ideas and I hope that we'll have news soon 🙂

Judging by this thread gapless playback is not going to be supported by Deezer, I am another user who will not be renewing my subscription.

This is 2018 i didn't think this would be something i need to have checked to see if it was supported by a modern music player

I just signed up for a family plan, not knowing of this idiotic error on all platforms.

This thoroughly sucks ass, as I've just manually added hundreds of albums to my library, which was quite a task.

Did Deezer ever say why they can't get this basic feature to work? Are they that incompetent?

PS: this is the fourth most requested item on this forum, but probably the one that will cost Deezer a lot of revenue because people are actually leaving. A dark mode or a native Linux client probably won't drive people away.

I'm actually a bit mad I was so stupid to move from the gapless Google Music to Deezer.

I suspect this is at least partially caused by using the MP3 format. I'm not familiar with the exact details but MP3 stores sound in snippits of a fixed length.

Not if it is vbr. I'd guess the problem is buffering the next song before it starts, but that shouldn't be that difficult to fix.

Google Play Music uses MP3, yet has no problems with gapless playback.

Yep, Deezer really needs a gapless/continuous playback, for albums like Nonagon Infinity it's a must that cross-fade doesn't really aid for being too finicky to get the feeling of continuous playing without blending parts of the music that weren't supposed to, and virtually not being able to use in the browser because Flash is dead and no browser supports it anymore. Like, it could just be an option to do what cross-fade does but putting a 0 second overlap.
Nonagon Infinity opens the dor! [...]
