Gapless so far hasn’t working on any version I’ve tried (web or desktop).  Hopefully this can happen soon because this is almost everything I’ve wanted for a streaming service like this, except for this one dealbreaker and it would be such a shame to go back to a service that’s worse in every other way.

I am sorry for asking, but is Gapless playback available on Android and Web Player?

It seems like it is LIVE, but some devices may not be on the list? Also previous poster said it didn’t work on his Web Player. If something is live, then is not working? I might listen dj mixed hard dance album today to see that on Android for myself. After all my vacation started now.

I will leave soon for the spa on two buses and will enjoy Deezer on the go.

If you can answer my question, would be nice, but is not needed. In next two or four hours I will be in spa anyway relaxing, may you have an awesome weekend also. Best wishes to you all.

This should be fixed asap :( Once you have working solution for iOS and Android, why does it need to take so long for desktop users? I’m listening to music 98% of the time on my desktop, so other platforms are not interesting for me at all

As far as I know, the rollout of gapless playback for iOS and Android users is not finished yet, and the feature has not been implemented and/or tested in the desktop app and web player yet.

My experience is that gapless playback on my android phone with deezer hifi is yet NOT functioning flawless. When I playback hifi mixes or albumtracks that should merge seamlessly into another track I still hear small switches or glitches between the tracks.

I have been monitoring this topic for a while now and listened to some albums and mix-albums since the announced gapless update overhere and I notice that there has been made progress in this particular issue, still the merge isn't seamless yet. Is it a matter of tweaking now to let the merging of tracks be seamless or is this an ongoing issue?

@ Deezer: could you please give us a status update on this? Thanks, Erwin.

Thanks a lot for coming back @Erwin L

It could be that we don't have a FLAC version of those tracks and as MP3 they haven't been encoded yet. Could I have some links for the exact tracks so that I can test with the devs here on our side?

Have you tried reinstalling the app to see if it makes any difference?

I’ve also tried this on Android using Deezer Family plan. There’s definitely a marked improvement from the huge gaps of the past, but there’s still a noticeable stutter  between tracks of some albums and full gaps in others. I tried after getting a popup from the app basically announcing Gapless playback and leading me to the Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon album, which is perfectly gapless by the way.. no stutters there.

In summary my listening experience so far:
True Gapless:
1. Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

Noticeable Stutter:
1. Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance Yearmix 2019

Still Big Gaps:
1. Kanye West - Late Registration (Only track 1 and 2 should have no gap)
2. Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto

Deezer Version 6.2.7.126 on Android 9

I made the mistake of uninstalling and reinstalling the app.. and all the gaps came back. I don’t have gapless playback in any album now.

UPDATE:
I joined the Beta program on the Play Store and the experience is much smoother! The Coldplay and Armin van Buuren Albums have flawless playback, and the Kanye West one has only a slight stutter. Great job and let’s get this version out!!!

Hi @hpguru

it’s not really an advert is it?  It’s more an notification of a new feature!

Ok, so I give last chance for Deezer to come with gapless desktop app, been waiting few months already, while paying HiFi subscription, but to no avail.
Any news, if it’s even in development?

Hey @hpguru

That's the idea with the notification area, thanks for supporting the idea and understanding the banner.

Hi @Vladimír H

It is being developed for quite a while now, don't worry. Our teams are running against time on this one, I can assure you - stay tuned to the community :v_tone2:

Excuse me, what does “LIVE” status of this issue means? I’m experiencing this problem on web player, it’s annoying. I think, it’s not too hard to initialize a next `Audio` JS element before current end for pre-loading and start immediately.

Hey @AlexWayfer

Thanks for getting in touch here too. Your feedback is appreciated throughout the community.

The reason for the Live is because we don't have a 'partially live' status to use here. Gapless is live on our mobile apps already, with desktop and web player coming in the next few months - we've been developing this for quite a while now :thumbsup_tone2:

I use Deezer on my desktop/webplayer and am fed up with these annoying gaps.  It totally ruins the listening experience and shouldn’t be that hard to fix. This has been a problem for years and a real nuisance which members frequently mention. Working from home now and listening to more music during these difficult times and this is really starting to get on my nerves.  When will this problem be solved? By Christmas or sometime early next year?  An approximate date would be greatly appreciated. :grinning:

That's the idea @groover

It's under development so it's hard to commit to a specific date, especially now that the end of the year is approaching. I hope to have more news by Xmas, so please stay tuned with us. I'm also waiting for this essential feature! :relaxed:

Yes @groover I use the desktop app myself and gapless was a feature I rooted for a long time. We've been developing for a couple of months already, so hopefully it'll be here very soon

New to Deezer as just left Google due to YTM not being available for kids. Looking around for a replacement and found Deezer to be the best so far but the lack of gapless play back is astonishing. This is a must have basic feature of any music playback software/service. It’s not a complex feature to add and every other streaming service I’ve tried so far has it. The lack of it completely ruins mix albums from classical to EDM.

I’ve found that I can pay to have this feature by upgrading to the HiFi subscription but this doesn’t fit well with the family subscription. As much as I like Deezer so far this could be a deal breaker for me staying with the service.

Reading more of the thread above it implies gapless playback is already available on the android app? Please can someone advise how to activate this as I still get small(under a second) gap between tracks - I don’t get this on the same album on YTM so I assume Its not active rather then not working very well.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us @Jon Black

Yes, gapless playback is available on our mobile apps. But not all of the MP3 tracks are encoded for this yet - Deezer HiFi has the whole FLAC catalogue enabled for gapless, for example.

Could you please give us an example of the tracks which have gaps?

Hi, I use Deezer Premium on my laptop (gapless works pretty fine), Android smartphone (as well, gap no longer than 0,5 sec.). From 2 weeks I try to listen to Deezer music with use of Bluesound Node 2i. And there is a really serious problem - gaps abt. 30 seconds between following tracks of the same album. And there is no wifi problem - wire internet connection (real transfer 200 Mb/s). Other services - no such problem. Any ideas?

Yes, it works on the mobile, but when I stream via chromecast, it doesn't work.  I am using beta version.
