Hi @PacoP

I believe you can have gapless on Android Beta and iOS. I'm hoping for gapless on desktop soon! 🙂

You don't. You have crossfade, which is NOT gapless. Crossfade breaks transitions and it's even worst than not using it at all on the numerous albums that were designed with gapless in mind, since it cuts out the beginning and end of tracks.

That's right @NycoHiFi but we're working towards bringing gapless to our apps. Please bear with us a bit longer. Thank you for your understanding :pray_tone2:

Apple Music is gapless (at least on Mac OS and iOS). It’s why I’ve left Deezer for the moment.

Hi, I like Deezer because of the quality of sound it offers. I have a Premium subscription for some time now, but I'm beginning to miss some of my favourit music. Take Steve Reich's Music for 18 musicians for example. In this modern classic, minimal music, no gaps, no pause is of the essence. With gaps this is no longer music, with gaps the piece is raped. Or take Richard Wagner's Tristan & Isolde. At some very important moments in this opera of opera's the music and singing cross the numbers. This too is of the essence. With gaps it's just horrible. Deezer, which so much pays attention to the quality of sound, is raping Wagner music. Does Deezer think it knows better how the music of Reich or Wagner should sound than Reich or Wagner themselves?? It's just outrageous and ridiculous. I seriously hope things will improve soon. Playing my old cd's on my old equipment in the attic is not what I want, while having expensive state of the art streaming equipment in the living room …

So, Deezer, please act ...

Yeah the gaps between tracks really ruin the listening experience for many albums I wish they would fix it.

Thanks Rudi! Would you have any idea as to when the fix could be implemented? (Before mid-2020?)

As in any other tech company, there's difficulty in narrowing a date down @NycoHiFi. Because even if it's planned, it can be pushed back and delayed due to bug fixes and other features you, users, request with more urgency.

Gapless was scheduled for the first part of the year - so our teams started working on it, but it might be pushed back/paused because a considerable amount of users are unhappy with the favourites limit for quite some time, for instance.

Either way, these are things we'll deliver at some point because we know it's important for all of you. And we'll keep you updated here :thumbsup_tone2:

Can't wait to listen to Dark Side of the Moon… :relaxed:

Hi so has there been any updates to gapless playback in the android app? Or even with rolling out crossfade to regular android users?

Hi

I'm really liking this app , but there is one thing missing if you will add

Create an option where you can choose a continuous nonstop playback between current and next track in a Playlist,  it will be very effective listening to nonstop (no pause) between two tracks during workouts and cardio

Thanks

Nader

I just started my trial and as I have been using Spotify for quite some time now, I simply cannot accept the fact that there is no gapless! As for me and the family, it is a must if it continues like this, I won’t go beyond the trial period. Since the original post was about two years ago, I do doubt there will be gapless playback anytime soon. A pity.

Hi there @Nader.Ahmed

Thank you for reaching out to us. I've moved your comment here so that you can support an existing idea. We're still developing this feature, and updates are expected in due course.

Hey @Tomasz Olszowy it would be a real shame to see you go, but the truth is that we still need more developing hours on this. Thank you for your support and understanding :thumbsup_tone2:

Another feature (like 2000 track limit) that really needs to be a top priority (honestly, this should be your #1 priority and not hard to fix). This should have been a must-have feature since day 1. It’s been 2 decades since gaps in playback were the norm or acceptable. I’m very thankful iOS doesn’t have this issue, and very surprised it has ever been an issue in Deezer - espeically for 2 years. I would have never signed-up at all had I been an Android user experiencing this issue - I would have cancelled the trial. This needs some leadership. Not being able to tie this down by mid-2020 is very poor.

No offense to your existing developers, but you need to bring in a new developer or consultant to fix this because it’s not the year 2000. It’s time to learn and move forward, and get the basics right.

This should be the #1 bug. Short of some kind of catastrophic failure, I think there shouldn’t be any planned activity that can be higher priority than this (I don’t even use Android and desperately want the 2000 track count increased, but this is a bigger issue for Deezer). Can you imagine how much business has been lost when someone trials Deezer and finds it doesn’t have gapless playback? The trial would be cancelled and you would never hear from them again. They certainly wouldn’t be posting about it in the forums.

I get your points, @teqteq. Absolutely. But we've acknowledged that and it's been developed

Thanks for supporting the idea!

Just started a trial, and I guess I’ll see if this feature is added before the trial period ends! I really hope it happens.

Likely but do not hold your breath...this feature is an ongoing process since...well can’t remember...forever?

There’s couple features that have already been discussed on the forums (like that tiny limit on music), but I hope that this gapless will be handled soon. Most of the times, any little gap don’t matter but when you listen to certain bands/artists studio-albums that are meant to be heard all the way through or some live-album, I can deal with the gap but of course would like it to be fixed. So, hope to see this one handled soon. Deezer has otherwise been great service and Im glad to see all these little feedbacks, bugs, suggestions and problems etc handled promptly and with good care.

Hi @Samppa

I agree with you on this one, and so Deezer. We're working on developing it, but we had to prioritise other features at this very moment - in any case, it's in our plans :thumbsup_tone2:

I just got a Sonos home system and am trying Deezer over Apple music to see if it sounds better.
First thing I listened to was Max Richters 4 seasons and was immediately hit with gaps between songs. WTF.
If Deezer is trying to aim for the audiophile market this is completely unacceptable.
Was considering trying out hi-fi (why no free trial) but what’s the point.

Hi there @scout

Thanks for your feedback. We're aware this is an essential feature to have. It isn't done yet, but it's on the cards for this year. Thank you for your patience and support :thumbsup_tone2:

In my case, I use Radio Anchor to minimize gapless between songs. Is not a solution at all, but it’s ok

That's an Android-only feature, available via Deezer Labs (in Settings) @Samppa. It adds a voice at the beginning of the track to introduce the title and artist, like a radio anchor :thumbsup_tone2:
