Enable Elite/HiFi on Squeezebox

OK, let me be the Devil’s advocate here.

So, the state of affairs:

• The LMS/squeezebox community isn’t really big anymore.  Hardware players are long gone, LMS is now like a really great Indie movie that only some have heard of.  Deezer will not put a coder on an obsolete platform (not technically, but certainly there is no commercial interest left) - how many Deezer HiFi/LMS combo users are out there?  50?  100?
• The Deezer plugin is cloud side (mysqueezebox) and not a server plugin, else it could be approached in open source
• Open source version of a HiFi plugin is not possible because the public Deezer API doesn’t support HiFi streaming
• 2 years we are asking for this.

Based on these points, I don’t expect Deezer HiFi ever to make it to LMS.

That said, the web interface can play back HiFi tracks so there is an “alternative” API being used there (read up on ARL cookies and such) so a plugin is possible, albeit unsupported.

Hello @Tonio Roffo, thanks a lot for the interesting input. So far there is unfortunately no plan for this integration indeed, and we need to work on our API to improve it so that it can integrate HiFi.

Using LMS now seems to be the only way to use Deezer with DIY media player based on Raspberry Pi boards. Lack of HiFi is frustrating a lot.  There is no any native plugin for any common music/media player in Pi ecosystem.

Thanks for registering your support for this idea here, @AlexRozen we know it would be a good addition but it needs a bit more before it gets prioritised 

I like Deezer, but i'm going to migrate to tidal since I can't play flacs with LMS.

Sad to hear but a reality check for us @Pioppa I'll pass your comments on and hopefully we can sway you back in the future

We've made some changes to our integration - could you please test the streaming to see if FLAC is enabled on your side?

Hello @Rudi - I would like to test, but unfortunately my Deezer trial has expired.  O hope others can test, I am interested to see if this works.
