Enable Elite/HiFi on Squeezebox

Hi there, i have a squeezebox touch and i really would like to see also Deezer hifi  for the squeezebox, please. I had Deezer hifi, but when i recognized that it is not supported on my squeezebox i canceled my hifi subscription. There was no point to pay for something i can‘t use on my squeezebox. It‘s a shame because i really like the music, the option that you can upload own mp3 files and this Deezer Flow :-). And i don‘t see the point to buy new hardware for that…

You can use Flac quality with your squeezebox with TIDAL. You need a TIDAL hifi subscription for that. It works without ickstream, please make sure you have updated your squeezebox with latest firmware and maybe latest LMS as well, also you have to choose in the settings of your squeezebox that you want flac quality.

Markus_no - I have Tidal up and working fine with flac via the squeezebox streaming through mysqueezebox.com now, so thank you. I wonder if the ickstream is for LMS only - not needed for me as I pretty much only stream these days.

I'll give the tidal free trial a go and if I like it I'll cancel deezer - doesnt seem any point in paying for 2 services. Such a shame its come to this as I have been a big fan of deezer for a few years now (especially Flow which I use all the time). I'll keep an eye on this thread and if Deezer ever get the squeezebox streaming up and running on HiFi I will probably switch back in the future.

Thanks for coming here and sharing your Squeezebox experience and feedback with us. It's sad to know that we're unable to offer this integration for you at this moment. Our list of priorities is taking over all resources in times like these. But I'll continue monitoring this topic and forwarding the feedback you've given us to our developers in hope that we can work on this in the future 

If you can't provide support for HIFI you really should stop offering this subscription or use this funcion as test function.
Please note there is info on oficial Deezer HIFI page that streaming FLAC music can be across all devices... but wait a minute no not all… Is this not misleading the customer?

Not only Logitech HIFI quality is not supported on Logitech Squeezeboxes, but the user interface of Deezer application seems very incomplete on Squeezeboxes: no access to my favorite or playlists, Search on Squeezebox/Deezer provides much less results than on Deezer native application, etc.

Who should be blamed for that ? Logitech or Deezer ?

As I have 5 Squeezeboxes at home, I will search for more complete and user friendly application than Deezer (let’s try Tidal)

Hi Bertrand - I can see my deezer playlists fine on the squeezebox, but I have to go through the deezer app on mysqueezebox.com. If you have a deezer family account it will only show the main users account (there is no way as far as I know to switch between deezer family member accounts on the squeezebox).

Coming from Spotify, I just got a Deezer HiFi subscription, knowing there was a Deezer app on my multiroom squeezebox system (with LMS). 

Kinda disappointed now that I know this Deezer app does not support HiFi Flac streaming.

Listening to Deezer HiFi on my smartphone makes no sense, so I'll cancel my HiFi subscription and go for Tidal or Qobuz instead.
