Deezer Favourite Tracks Limit of 2000 too small - please increase it!

Unfortunately you can add my subscription to the list of casualties. I have signed up for family plan on Spotify and transferred my data there already. Obviously I will not be renewing my Deezer Family plan when it expires early next month.

I was even willing to deal with absolutely boneheaded family account where everyone shares the same login and just picks profile (so eg. if you setup kid profile theres nothing stopping him from switching back to admin profile and listening to whatever he wants or even removing limits from his own profile...not to mention kids having access to payment and service info...that’s absolutely unacceptable), but 2000 favorites limit is just too much. Theres way more than 2000 songs I enjoy out there and I think I’d much rather deal with 10k limit on Spotify than 2k on Deezer. Not to mention sub accounts on Spotify have separate logins which is way more secure solution.

I’m sorry, I really wanted to support the little guy as thriving competition is good for all consumers, but you’ve had two years and have literally done nothing. Please don’t take it personally Rudi - I actually believe you’re trying, but management and dev team of Deezer are absolutely tone-deaf when it comes to valid criticism. It’s almost as if they actually didn’t use Deezer themselves...

Thank you for your honest feedback. We can only lament the fact you made such decisions. But we'll continue to strive and improve our service so that someday soon, we can try to sway you back 

@bobeer86 the only bit I take personally is the frustration for not being able to provide a better product for your needs at this moment. And for the subaccounts you mentioned, we're finishing our take on that - it won't be a problem anymore

I'm relatively new to Deezer and will be sticking around for the time being  but I have to agree that this limit is shortsighted and doesn't reward loyal customers who are the ones most likely to build up a long favourites list just by using Deezer for a long period of time.

Also, there is no reason this couldn't be pushed out to a subset of users/countries initially which is then widened over time.

I hope this can be solved soon. In the meantime, thanks for all the other hard work that Deezer is putting in.

Thanks for your comments, they mean a lot to our teams. I've spoken a lot here about what we think about this feature. The more feedback we have, like yours, the more priority and pressure we can add to the idea - thanks for playing your part too 

This is essential. When my year subscription comes to the end, I would consider continuing or not.

I have been for nearly 2/3 years a happy Deezer customer for many reasons. Especially with the Flow adapting with the Favourite Tracks and I just reached the limit today of the 2,000… 

Just saw that this thread is nearly 2 years old.

Will this issue be really solved in the coming months? 

It is an essential feature. 

For the moment i’ll work around adding the tracks to another playlist but it is such a shame that the limits has not been lifted already.

Personally, I’m not as concerned about the link to Flow. If the technical reason is because of that and not because of something else, I wish there were maybe even another icon (a musical note?) that denotes whether you’ve favourited it already. The main reason I want it is just so I know whether I already favourited a song or not.

I’ve been using a separate “favourite” playlist for the overflow, but when I look at a song at a glance, I can’t tell whether I’ve already liked it or not (without having to do a search through the favourite playlist. And then if I have more than 2000 in my favourite playlist I’ll have to search 2 playlists, etc.).

I can’t imagine there being a major technical reason if it’s just a list of song ids saved somewhere. A song list of a million songs would probably be barely 8 MB.

Thanks! I finally hit my 2000 favourited song ceiling and this is becoming more relevant!

If you have already favorited a song, it will show a red heart icon everywhere if it is in the regular 2k limited Favorites list. If it is in your Favorites overflow playlist or whatever you may call it, you can simply add it there again, because the Deezer app will automatically recognise that it is already in there and not add it twice. The difference to e.g. Spotify in this case is that there is no popup message asking if you would want to add it twice or not. To manually check if it is already added, you would have to use the search input field for the playlist where you only have to put in one specific term, not the whole title.

Unfortunately, my favourite playlist is also starting to overflow, so it may be in 2 different lists. Good to know, though. I never knew if it added it twice or not.

For what it’s worth, I did create a script that puts all my playlists together, shuffles them, takes out the duplicates, and put them back into 2000 song lists, but I don’t run it often.
