Deezer Favourite Tracks Limit of 2000 too small - please increase it!

If your developers are stuck because they’re loading all 2000 songs into the client and that’s the main issue, then they’re really doing it wrong. Lazy loading! Surely that’s not the actual issue? I can’t imagine how older phone models has any bearing on this, and if it does, again, doing it wrong. I thought it was a back-end processing issue for Flow or something actually complex?

@teqteq it is complex and until our devs can give us more details, I'll be only passing your feedback to them. I feel that we can get into confusing arguments here, while no one is an expert

Sorry @Rudi . You yourself do a great job, but I’m out.

After all the effort you and I (and other customers) have put in, I’m not seeing Deezer evolve in a good direction (mostly the opposite), or take responsibility for its issues, so today is my last day on Deezer (I’m not even going to wait out my current subscription period). Thankfully, as I mentioned previously, migrating away from Deezer is easy because of tools like Soundiiz, and migrating back now impossible until you fix this 2000-track limit (very much enjoying my 3,662 tracks on Spotify). I’ll check back once in a while to see if it’s been fixed, but until then, I’m done.

This is the major issue, but also your developers continually fail to understand the true user-experience, as I have mentioned so many times (no I don’t want to hear every song with the name “cocaine” in it when I was only looking for the song by Eric Clapton). Hi-Fi members are second-class citizens, still even lacking their own preset and having to use the Custom playback quality option, configured by each user themselves. I’ve clearly given a lot of time and effort into trying to direct Deezer into the platform-of-choice, but very little of it has been enacted, there’s very little acceptance of responsibility, a lot of uninformed and frankly poor excuses, a lack of response (apart from yourself) when you push for an update beyond what is chosen as important by the developers, and just a general disregard for the customer.

@Rudi you do a fantastic job, but the company behind you is failing miserably. All the best, and I hope to return in future (that’s how much potential I think Deezer has - I’ll still check this forum once in a while in the hope of returning). You’ve got my details, so feel free to contact me when it’s fixed or for any focus groups. But for now, adieu.

The team and I are very sad to see you go, but streaming services are indeed an individual and personal option and we can surely understand your frustration. It's been a short journey I must say, mate. But I honestly hope we can up the level soon enough and have you back. Maybe not adieu, but see you in a bit.

Also, touching on the developers mention, one of our bosses has moved tables around so that our community and support teams can actually work closer to the devs like never before. So the message is getting across - the only but is that it'll take time to transition.

I should add one point that was also a tipping-point regarding this 2000 track limit.

The use of the “Love” button is so ingrained into the fabric of Deezer (and most streaming apps) that it becomes very hard to avoid without excessive manual maintenance of your account. It’s not as simple as saying “use another playlist” because that’s not how the app is designed.

• If I am driving, and in Car Mode particularly, all I can do is click “Love” on the track. It’s the only way I have to save a song, else it be lost forever in the recesses of my mind.
• Even where I have the opportunity to save the track to a playlist, when I come back to that song again there is no indication that I’ve ever saved the song in my library. So I’m forever re-adding songs to playlists, not knowing if I’d previously saved it (also see above, maybe I was driving and wasn’t able to save it at the time).
• The handling of hitting the limit is even very poor. It’s a system-ish error. At least present the user with a tidy error with tips/apology.
• Then I am forever having to perform maintenance on my library, migrating prevous favourites to me second favourites playlist.

So the app is a bit of a Frankenstein in that regard. Like your front-end and back-end developers start building a bridge on opposite sides of the river and then only at the middle realise it doesn’t quite match.

As I mentioned when I first joined, I was sure I already had more than 2000 tracks, but they got lost in migration somewhere, and even then it took very little time to hit the 2000 limit. It’s quite sad, because I could deal with the rest of the foibles (all platforms have them), but not while Deezer is actively making my music-listening more difficult and time-consuming than it need-be.

Who knows. I might get jack of non-lossless audio before long and come back! But it’s now very hard to revert because of this track limit. But, thanks to tools like Soundiiz, if I do decided to return in the future, it only takes an hour.

Anyway, I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread. Don’t worry about that. I doubt I’m the only fallen-soldier that is waiting for their Deezer resurrection!

If anyone else is also waiting the fix of this issue and would otherwise gladly return to Deezer, add your voice too!

I just hit the 10,000 song limit in Spotify, and immediately canceled my account because that is absurd. I started the free trial of Deezer as an alternative, but now I learn that Deezer has a 2,000 track limit??? What is the purpose of having good music discovery if your system can’t handle people saving the songs they discover??? I will now be looking for another alternative until the track limit is lifted.

Thanks for the honest feedback. With Deezer, you can have a single limit of 2000 favourite tracks but you can also add more tracks to 2000 playlists and save these in your favourites too 

Well I’m also leaving, adding to playlists is not convenient at all and it makes the experience really unpleasant. I’m gonna give a try to spotify, even though it has been 4 years now with deezer, sad to leave, I support you guys, didn’t complain about the user interface and the search which I believe need a good amount of revamp. But this issue won’t cut it for me. 
Anyway, I wish you the best and maybe I would return back one day.. 

Same exact thing here. As a long time music listener I have 5K+ tracks I would like in my favorites. Shuffling all of my song sis my primary listening method and Deezer is incapable of doing that do to this arbitrary limit. This platform has everything I wan over other streaming platforms, but is 100% ruined for me due to this limit, and I cannot use it until the limit is adjusted. It is not very difficult to load 1000s of favorites as every music platform shy of Deezer does it. If you’re program is so poorly optimized that you can’t load what amounts to a tab sheet of words then it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. People listen to more and more music over time, and the limit will push out your users one by one as they hit it. The non-answer of metaphors and use playlists is a joke.

This would unquestionably be the best streaming service if the limit was expanded to even 5k, but should really be closer to 10k. Catering to hardcore listeners with hi-fi, and then not thinking those same hardcore listeners would have large libraries is absurd and short-sighted. I have tried Deezer twice, but cannot get passed this track limit. Update this one feature, and a lot of people who can’t use this platform now will come running. It’s worth your time.
