The most voted idea in our Deezer Community.
We're proud to announce that our favorite tracks limit has been increased to 10,000 tracks!
Thank you all for your patience and support while we worked on the delivery of this immense project. We hope you enjoy marking those songs as favorites now
This should be a gradual rollout to users, so please stay tuned for more details.
I'll be announcing this officially on our community homepage soon, so that you can give us your feedback. Once again, thank you!

Good point
The teams will be looking at this in due course

Thanks for your support.
I understand what you mean but it doesn't work like that. The more favourites, the longer it'll take for your app to load them - and for the features to as well. But we've taken your feedback with great appreciation, this is one of our most important suggestions this year
Pagination?

One feature that would make this more manageable is the ability to add all Favourites to a playlist. Then a way to clear all current Favourites. So I basically shift them all to another playlist, giving me 2000 more. I don’t want to add this as a separate idea because in the absence of this suggestion it means itching to anyone.

I still wonder if a possible solution might be to store Favourites across multiple playlists in the backend, and just merge them seamlessly for the end-user (similar time above, once you hit 2000, automatically roll-off all Favourites and start with fresh, only do this seamlessly to the end-user). Because it seems Favourites are just a hidden playlist that’s presented separately?

Is this still being actively worked-on to find a solution?

Yes
Yes to pagination and I like the suggestion about storing favourites across multiple playlists. I'm gonna pass it on, right away

Good point, but i have some doubts:
Playlist limit is also 2000 songs, so if you move 2k favorite songs, you complete it .
How do you know if you have already a song you liked? Playlist is full so you can’t add more to see if they’re or not because a pop up will display with an error. Another way is to take note of all songs in a .txt, .doc/x , or see in playlist using alphabetical order. That takes some time everytime you want to add a new one.

This is a duct rape solution for something that needs real change behind the scenes. I'm not criticising the suggestion, it's a good temp fix, but it shouldn't be done if actually sorting out the issue gets kicked down the road because of it.
Playlists shouldn't enter into it. If Deezer was library-oriented in a well-designed way none of this would be an issue. There's.a thread about this I'd ask everyone to read and vote for: https://en.deezercommunity.com/ideas/325

After more than 2 years still only 2k songs.
Ridiculous, wanted to switch from Spotify but this means it's no longer an option. Have 15k songs in my favorites.

Sorry to hear that
In order to successfully transfer your favourites, you'd have to create playlists on Deezer for that volume. We know that could be inconvenient and your feedback is much appreciated. Hopefully we can sway you back in the future

Yes, this is weird and annoying, I hope the limit will be extended as soon as possible.

Holy cow! I didn’t know the favourite track limit was only 2000 on Deezer. Spotify has 10 000 and Apple Music has 100 000. 2000 seems like something I’d reach rather quickly.

Hi there
Thanks for reaching us. The limit of favourites is something we're very aware of and for that reason is often discussed. So that's why your votes and feedback are very much appreciated, to add to the urgency of this project

Hello
Have a nice week!
Please reconsider planning it. As a supporter of Deezer, it is an essential feature for modern music streaming. If it is a budgetary issue, at least consider pay-walling additional storage behind the Hi-Fi subscription.
Have a nice day.

I’m really disappointed to see the “we’re forwarding it to the right team” responses. That’s almost word-for-word what Spotify says when they blow you off. :(
It’d be one thing if this was a new thread, but it’s two years old with, as far as I can tell, barely any insight into what’s being discussed or what the plan is.

Hi there
Thank you for your support and constructive feedback. We know it can be frustrating, we've been replied to you since the topic opened too.
When we forward your feedback to the relevant teams, we tell them directly, we're unable to dismiss any comments from the community at all - quite the opposite. We get in touch with the right product managers and developers and explain to them what you are all saying and details of your profiles so that they can see how you listen to music on Deezer
Last year our developers agreed this is something we need to tackle sooner rather than later. However, and as I've explained previously here, the wrong development of this feature would be to increase the limit. This is because it would make the experience overall bad, because of the way this is currently set on the app (pagination and loading). So the idea is to start from scratch and develop a new way of 'collecting' favourites, and with that, a bigger tracklist size
That isn't planned for the immeadiate future, but as soon as we're able to get the ball rolling, I'll be keeping you updated with the process

To be clear, I obviously can’t say that Deezer’s response is as bad as Spotify’s can be: Spotify’s community management usually fails the Turing test, and their support *always* fails. I know I’m speaking to an actual person! :p
I guess the issue is just the *way* that sounds, especially to someone like me, who left Spotify because they made their product worse, and their response to the community ranges from insincere to completely absent. If someone’s coming from Spotify to Deezer, it can be a bad look.
This may be beyond the functionality of these forums, but if you could sticky the official Deezer reply below the original post, and update it as things develop, I think that could go a long way. And especially if you’re open about who is handling what, what the challenges are, and what the plan is moving forward, with updates. I know it’s more challenging to keep up the replies that way, but on the other hand it might preemptively answer questions before they’re even asked. :)

What I understood is that the way Deezer works doesn’t allow >2K, and you are creating a new model to increase that limit. Hope that new model includes dark theme, HiFi, multiplatform control, simple and easy to use ( good design), more social, main buttons always there, quick access to search, lyrics, and all other ideas.
If you want testers for that system, here am I, to send you feedback of all mistakes.
Another point….you are talking about details of our profiles, can you explain better?

Not sure if this should go in a New Idea or not, but it’s related to the max song capacity for Favorites.
What if the following exist for each song:
Favorites Icon: functionality stays the same
Add to “+” Icon: functions as “Save this song.” The Middle-Class of your music library!
- This adds a second-tier of likability to a person’s musical interests. What this does will put the song in a new tab of “Favorites” titled “Tracks” sitting between “Favorite Tracks” and “Downloads.” (Basically this is just another Playlist that doesn’t show up alongside all of your other playlists.)
- Any songs that you hit the + icon on will also go here and if you want to go back and move them into a playlist you can! At the same time, this allows more insight to be added to the algorithm, making it easier to understand that you do like these songs, but maybe they aren’t your favorites.
Let me know what you all think!

Just inputting, as a user who is considering paying for your service, it’s quite vital this limit is increased ASAP. I have almost 10k favorites and just hit the cap within hours of trying the service.
This is quite make or break.
Side Note: If I’m not able to have more than 2k favorites, I need a way to be able to search all of MY playlists for individual songs/artists *on the playlist page*, showing results by displaying all of my playlist that includes the searched song/artist (not just playlist name like it is right now), else I don’t see how I’m going to use this service.
Totally willing to be a paying customer, but these things need to be addressed with immediate fixes, not just pushing to the team with no improvement over 2+ years. If it’s not available by the end of trial I’ll be canceling.
