Wow having just transferred my library from Tidal this is going to be a massive issue. Very disappointing. I don’t want to go back!

Been prompted this morning that the max # of favorite tracks has been reached? (2000 indeed) Is this serious? Got a premium account. And there shd be no limitation to this.

Are there any plans to lift this f*****g restriction?

Thks

I can’t believe this has been ongoing for 2 years. That’s very disappointing. Having migrated 1488 tracks from Tidal with Soundiiz only 2 weeks ago, and already being up to 1608 tracks, this isn’t going to work. I’m sure I have many more than 2000 but lost them from favourites migrating from Apple to Tidal. So they grow pretty fast. This needs urgent attention or you’re just going to continue to bleed customers. The one thing you need to get right above all things is being unhindered in saving tracks to Favourites. It’s second only to being able to reliably stream music. Drop everything to fix it. You’ve got the fundamentals wrong.

Can you give an ETA on the fix, or confirm if it’s not planned? @Rudi

What happened to this status?

On our Road Map

Favourite Tracks Limit of 2000 too small (and only shows 1000 on mobile app)
Thanks to all the votes and comments we’ve realised that this limit is not ideal and we’re working on it. It requires technical adaptations on our side though so it will definitely take some time. We will keep you posted.

Hi there@Lorphie

You can add your favourites to playlists and then the limits can work differently.

Hey@teqteq thank you for your patience. No, this idea isn't planned for the time being. Thank you for your support.

@Rudi adding tracks To playlists isn’t a solution to this. I’d guess most people rarely use playlists. And how does that affect my Flows? Do playlist tracks count towards Flow-suggestions?

This is a deal breaker unfortunately. You won’t have my support for much longer.

Its a crazy position to take. Your most prolific users are your most important data - key links in your network data to associate music for Flows.

Anyway sadly this position is following 2 years of thought, 13 pages of comments, and seemingly the most-voted improvement of your users, so I guess there’s nothing else to say.

im not really sure how you expect anyone to take the HiFi service seriously with so many shortcomings. 2000 x 2000 playlists isn’t the solution.

Hi there @teqteq

Sorry you feel this way. It isn't that we won't do it, it's just technically challenging to do it at this moment, especially if 2000 playlists can be added - our existing structure. I'll definitely pass on your feedback to our product managers and developers.

And the playlists do count for Flow suggestions, yes. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Thanks @Rudi. I think Deezer need to give this a strong reconsideration. I’d wager you don’t have a single customer that cares about the ability to have 2000 playlists (imagine managing 2000 playlists!!). Nor will customers care about being able to store 4,000,000 songs spread across 2000 playlists. It’s quite comical if you look at it from a customer-perspective :-)

Here’s an option that may potentially fit into your current architecture - in the background, categorise songs to genres. When you Fav a track, in the background it actually stores it in a genre playlist, but the user’s Favourites becomes an aggregation of all the users genre-based Favourites. Cuz I’m guessing Favourites are actually just another playlist from the backend perspective, hence having a 2000 song limit like any other playlist.

Or once a user gets to 2000 favourites, automatically create a second Favourites playlist in the background called eg Favourites2 but from a front end perspective seemlessly merge/union the two.

Though it’s easy to speculate without knowing the true cause of the limitation,

I don’t mean to trivialise it but it urgently needs review. It really is one of the most critical features of a streaming service. I know many customers won’t hit 2000 but it still points to a major shortcoming of a core feature. And every user is going to experience ongoing indefinite growth of their music library.

As a benchmark I currently have 223 playlist, and some are duplicates I need to clean up. I’d say that’s well above average compared to the majority of users. I’m still going to hit 2000 favourites at some point in the next 6-12 months.

I’ll hang in there until I hit 2,000 I guess (I like you guys) but once I hit that limit I’ve little choice but to move on (and I dare say you’ll have more HiFi competition by then).

Anyway thanks for your efforts engaging so well with customers. It’s a relief after months/years of wasting my time contacting Tidal support with issues and requests.

Here’s another reason I need more than 2000 tracks: My downloads are based on my Favourite tracks.

1679 and counting :-( I’m finding a lot of favourites I’ve lost transferring between services.

Hi there @teqteq

Thank you for your detailed and additional feedback. It's very important to have this kind of opinion so that our product managers can be kept up-to-date with how you feel about this.

Hey @JetTheHawk sorry it isn't the way you expected. We understand the reasons why, but it's quite challenging to deliver it at the moment. We'll continue to discuss it and hopefully, it can be reviewed soon.

Have to let Deezer cancel at the end of my trial. It just doesn’t work having a limit on the amount of albums you can add when I reached that limit day one when transferring over. Will look at rejoining if this gets implemented.

Actually you shouldn’t base recommendations in Flow etc on playlist content either. Let’s say I create a playlist for a wedding or a child. It is likely to contain songs that I wouldn’t normally have any interest in. I don’t want recommendations on those songs. Another reason Favourites need to be treated differently.

You should get your analysts to look at the amount of churn for customers reaching 2000 favourites. And compare that to the number that have churned for reaching 2000 playlists :-)

Then look at the 2000-favourites churn relative to overall churn and compare the percentage.

I’m sure there’s a customer-retention issue there somewhere.

And also look at returning-customers for both groups.

An ignored customer is a loss of loyalty. For others it’s more likely a cost-benefit decision.

Also project the number of customers that will reach the 2000 limit in their lifetime

I just cancelled my subscription because of this limitation. I prefer Deezer over Apple Music or Spotify. But only 2000 favorites songs is a deal breaker and pretty stupid.

You must losing a lot of clients because of that and all you’re saying is it might be something you will consider in the future, and you’ve been saying that for years lol.

Hi guys! I know, that it's some technical specifications on your servers, but i've reach count of 2000 liked tracks and can't leave a like anymore. I wish you will disable these limits in future updates :)

Hey@brianlg  @oxa   ! I can hear you :/ I am really sorry and I hope this feature will be implemented very soon :)

@teqteq as regards recommendations at the moment they’re based on all music you listen to on your account and algorithms cannot detect what has been streamed due to circumstances and what has been played because user likes it. However, I can completely understand and I hope that the further developments of the app will make it possible to distinguish songs we like from those we “have to” play for other reasons :) To this extent, it’d be great if  you could share this great idea with us here ;)

@WapeRPauL please find more info in this thread :)

I got excited when I saw 3700 tracks in my Favourites! But then I realised it was a bug that tripled every song in my library… But it’s gone since killing and restarting - back to 1747 tracks again. Just letting you know in case it highlights a technical possibility (or one less impediment) to increasing the limit.

I’m on iOS beta by the way. I’ll report it in that forum.

Thanks for joining in! A lot of us have been bothered by this issue for so long, the more voices we have the better.

Just wanted to emphasise that this is a great idea you've posted for a quick fix (and we could really do with one), but, if the the fix needs to be a getaround of this nature, you need to change the current architecture Deezer.

It might be time consuming and costly, but as it stands the current design is pretty weak/poorly structured if it runs into issues like this. It would be worth it in the long run and allow a lot more flexibility for future changes. Updating the architecture should be a major priority at Deezer HQ.

I'm all for you doing this quick fix for now as it seems a great way to help users, but in the long term you need major changes.

Also, my usual plea: please give consideration to those of us who work by saving albums. I think I have about 1300 in my library at the moment, but 300 of those just don't appear in the list on the app. I fear hitting the 2000 limit too as I'd love to use Deezer in the long term, but would have to leave the instant this happened.

Would like to point out that going forward this should be increased, spotify’s limit is making new in the financial times (I don’t want it to be Deezer!)
