Our master account is mine and I've created two secondary accounts: my wife, and my daughter (6 years old).
Could we add a way to have the secondary accounts log in without needing to log into the master account? Here are the reasons:
1. I use a really complex password that my wife cannot remember.
2. My daughter is using our old Squeezebox and it only can connect to the master account and no secondary. If the secondary user could independently log in, that wouldn't be a problem. I'm guessing many more apps would act like this.
3. Sonos only allows 1 Deezer source per email address. Allowing secondary user login would circumvent this issue.
4. My Master account isn’t interested in kiddy music but because we do listen to kiddy music on Sonos and Squeezebox, the Flow will be affected by and ruin it.

I have now upgrade my famlily premium abo to a family abo. And my opinion about this is I can provider other deezer accounts access to deezer premium because I have a family ABO. So I can share my abo with my wife, my mother and so on. But if I understand the UI correct I must share my credentials of my deezer account with all people I want to share my abo because these 6 profiles are working more like a folder for different times not like accounts.
I think that this is not good by design. If I take my gmail account as authentification provider for my deezer account any body that use the account to access the his profil can allso read all my mails etc.
Or I wan't realy manage my kids I can't do this. (yes I can restrict a profile to a kids profil but can't restirct the users to switch in another account.

Just do it - Crazy not to
As a software developer and architect for 20 years in business now, I am more than curious about how Deezer seems to have implemented the Deezer Family Subscription Model. After checking the model out, for my girl friend, and reading https:// https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115002459285-Deezer-Family it was clear to me that it has a big design issue. As a fan of Deezer I have to write my thought about that. You created some profiles and they belong to a Deezer account and are not independent anymore. This is rather complex and creates multiple problems:
- If a customer already has a "account" and so also a "profile" he can't just join his family. For such a operation the profile has to relinked to a different account. It seams you do not have implemented such a operation, because you request your user to create a new profile and "contact our support team and we can help you transfer your favorites.". So possibly some data is lost within such a "transfer". And its some work for the Deezer support.
- If the customer want to leave the family, he can't do it. For such a operation the profile has to be relinked to a then new account. It seams such a operation is not existing, because you write "profiles will be inaccessible until your re-subscribe" and that's it.
- By your current model a customer possibly have multiple profiles. If he want to leave a family with his secondary profile and want to continue with his original "main profile" from his "main account" the profiles have to be merged. Such a operation is nearly impossible to create, because likes and unlikes of titles can't be merged without conflicts and a complex conflicts resolving method and user interface.
- I don't see how someone can keep is "profile" name currently if he wants to move between family and regular subscription.
- Every family member need physical "access" to the person with the main profile / account holder if he wants to login to his profile. Physical because of course nobody should never give credentials to some other person. Even family members.
- If I understand this model correctly, every "device" logged in has access to every profile. So Deezer is no "personal" experience anymore? I enforce to share all favs and so one? Choosing the wrong profile confuses other family members?
I currently only see these benefits for the profile thing:
- All existing devices have to implement the profile feature and have to know about profiles. Even all this is only created to handle subscription and so only because of payment stuff. By creating this profile architecture you moved all this to the device which is only responsible for playing music. This creates a lot of needed work without any visible benefit to just have multiple accounts. As I see this is a issue for at least Sonos devices and you write "At the moment other systems can only log in to the Master Account" so nobody implemented it or even the API can't handle it. Sonos allows using multiple accounts since 2014 because its so easy to do. It seams they have changed nothing to support s*****y family accounts, because it is just transparent to them.
Keep in mind that all this creates so much problems and restrictions that maybe nobody wants to use Deezer for his family. Maybe you can explain why you choose this way to me. Of course also via personal message. Of course I can have missed something here. Currently I don't see how to use a Family subscription without leaving Deezer. So what do you think?
- it could be harder to share such profiles/accounts with non-family members. But why not display "payed by family leader " in the profile? It needs more criminal energy if everybody can see it.
- kids age restriction. But why not just add a flag for that you can only change if you pay yourself. Every kid could create a Deezer free account. So its only about if someone want to pay for FSK12 or FSK16/18 for an other account.
I think this person makes a great point. One sad thing is that Deezer can't even integrate to family profiles into their OWN community page/forums. I'm writing from my dad's account because I can't switch to my profile to comment.
It also really annoys me that even though deezer supports linking deezer accounts to other apps like bandisintown or sonos, I can't because i'm just profile not an actual account.
My family is now considering switching to a service that is more useful to us.
I would like like to separate a user profile for a family account from the main account. The profile should retain its favorites etc
This is preventing me from becoming a paying user.
Was in the process of switching from Spotify and was looking into the Deezer Family Plan. Now I discovered that I have to share master account information with all family members and thus every member can sweet between all accounts.
Really liked Deezer so far. Just sad that you do not take security and privacy seriously. It would have been fun.
PS: The forum shows the submit date of this idea as "One year ago". The exact date was Nov 4, 2017 and now is Aug 27, 2019... quite a stretch to call it a year.

Hi there @ongakufi @Lee.Smith @mikeltm
Thank you for your feedback, we're working on it. We made it possible login via different profiles on Google Home and Alexa devices so far
@ongakufi a bit like video streaming services, like Netflix, for example.

I don't think it is implemented very well at Netflix either. It is understandable that sharing credentials between different individuals may be even desirable for some usability reasons... from a privacy & security standpoint it's just plain wrong. I think Netflix has at least the PIN that differentiates between adults and kids. Not much better, but makes it somewhat more bearable.

Not quite fast enough, I’m in the process of switching the whole family to Spotify. This issue didn’t affect me, but was a real pain for my kids.
The drivers for me to switch were poor artist profile management (see my other posts), and worsening artist payments.
Hi @ongakufi
Same login credentials, but with the option to choose different profiles in devices like Google Home and Amazon Echo (not possible until very recently). I completely understand your point about security, but there's more ground for us to cover at the moment in order to get there.
We don't have a PIN system but that's a good suggestion. We do have child profiles, with explicit content filtered.
Hi@mikeltm
Thank you for your honest feedback. If you don't mind, could you explain a bit more about 'worsening artist payments'?

Still keeping an eye on this discussion since I first got involved with it 2 years ago.
I see that Deezer, in the middle of 2019, are still advocating sharing login credentials.
*slow hand clap*
It's like security awareness never happened for them.

Hey Deezer, is there any progess on this one?
Not yet @Christian Hetterich . But we're working through our most popular suggestions and will present them to our team of product managers to see if we can get an update overall. This is one of the ideas we'd like to have an update on. We'll let you know if that's the case. Thank you for your support.
I totally support this idea to provide a unique login system for each family member. Even more for kids and disallow them to switch profile...
However as a developer, it could be a challenge to implement it because of the actual architecture with so much users. The risk is quite high to make a mistake.
I love this simple idea to add pin code for each family user. It could be the solution.

I am hopping on this thread to share that I'm a big fan of Deezer. It's like a hybrid of Spotify and Pandora - but better. However I am trying to restrict explicit content for my 4 boys. I was under the impression that the master could control which profile can or can't see explicit content: FULL STOP. However, this isn't the case. Each profile can switch to another profile, or worse, change their restrictions to view explicit content. This counters to what a family plan should offer in my opinion.
Deezer, please provide separate login capability and the master account to drive restrictions to each profile. Thanks.

have four children (boys) that range from 16 to 3. They all love music, but the temptation to listen to explicit music is one that is hard to manage. I joined the family plan hoping we can control and educate our kids so they can make strong and positive choices with music streams.
Deezer offers the best "gating" capacity than any other service. However it falls short when allowing profiles to switch to other profiles, and even change their own explicit settings. So now my 12 year old can easily switch to listen to some pretty perverse lyrics.
I'm proposing Deezer do 1 Idea:
Thank you.

I'm proposing Deezer do 1 Idea:
- Allow for the master to control AND LOCK DOWN explicit settings that then pass down to other profiles. The key to this idea is that profiles cannot change explicit permissions (which they currently can do), nor jump into other profiles (which they currently do).
Thank you.
Hi,
Please implement this using allowing different login detail per family member. It would solve the this for all devices whether Sonos, HEOS, Control4, BMW etc etc. I don't think the PIN code option would work as well as a simple separate login.
I run a smart home, AV and cinema installation company (www.homecinematechnology.co.uk) and would be able to help Deezer steal a lot of customers from Spotify as they would no longer have to use spotify connect. However spotify connect is a good workaround for the profile problem until Deezer fix this properly.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if this is something Deezer can work on.
Thanks
Minesh

Thanks a lot for all your feedback, guys @minesht @mgierach @Steeve . We'll keep insisting this is a popular addition to our devs.
@mgierach you can change their profile to a kids one, and enable a filter within the app (for the time being).
Have different logins for the diferent people in my family. I really dont want my family getting into my profile, just be a normal music streaming service and do it like everyone else and send everyone a mail telling your family to join with their OWN accounts.

Hi everyone, thanks for everyone who's voting for this idea! We're are still considering it, but to be honest, not working on it right now! We'll keep this topic updated as soon as we have any more news on this!
Hi everyone, we're improving our family subscription and working on tons of ideas, but we want to be very honest with you guys and we're not working on this idea right now. It means that we're still considering it, but it won't be our priority at the moment. We'll keep this topic updated as soon as we have any more news!
That's great suggestion me too need it in my family plane for us all to have the same login is dealbreaker thing
Please take these comments seriously as the way the login or security for the family accounts work now is really not satisfying. It is absolutely not showing any respect to the users when you try to explain your own rules as an answer and there are so many examples for better solutions!
So please make a viable solution soon so we do not have to worry about sharing passwords.
Also adding free accounts to family accounts should be much more easy, also disconnecting them. All without copying numbers and playlists.
Agreed. I’ll be deleting my account before the free trial is finished, and moving to spotify.
