Our master account is mine and I've created two secondary accounts: my wife, and my daughter (6 years old).

Could we add a way to have the secondary accounts log in without needing to log into the master account? Here are the reasons:

1. I use a really complex password that my wife cannot remember.

2. My daughter is using our old Squeezebox and it only can connect to the master account and no secondary. If the secondary user could independently log in, that wouldn't be a problem. I'm guessing many more apps would act like this.

3. Sonos only allows 1 Deezer source per email address. Allowing secondary user login would circumvent this issue.

4. My Master account isnโ€™t interested in kiddy music but because we do listen to kiddy music on Sonos and Squeezebox, the Flow will be affected by and ruin it.
Please be aware that every now and then on all accounts a new login is required, so the solution with the pin code for changing account is not enough.

I can login on the master account, but the family has to wait using Deezer until they are at home, or again sharing login information.

So please make more logins for a family!
I'm a family subscriber and have created a profile for my son.

However, there's nothing to stop him from switching that to my profile.

Would be nice if the setting was pin-protected or if i could add an additional pin to my own profile to protect it from being chosen

I think it's a big mess that I can't switch between my family accounts with Sonos, HEOS or other hardware.

Why the hell haven't you fixed the API yet?

The hardware manufacturers can't offer what DEEZER denies its paying customers and partners from the outset.

It's just the shitty API and DEEZER's unwillingness to accommodate its customers. I'm really pissed off and will probably switch to the competitors who, strangely enough, can handle it without any problems. I'm ashamed of myself for paying money for such badly programmed crap.๐Ÿ’ฉ
Just an update: since using the family account with the one password. I'm actually finding it to be quite useful how Deezer has implemented it.

For example:

+ While my phone has been connected in the car, and travelling with a family member, I've been able to switch to their profile and play their flow - while my phone remains connected. This also worked well in adding favourite songs, the songs are added directly to their playlist.

+ When I've recommended a playlist for them, where they have been too lazy to add the playlist (quite common), I'll switch to their profile, add the playlist, then switch back to mine.

+ Has solved some of the difficulty with users who aren't that technical, and remembering their password (it's the same one as the master one).

To prevent misuse, Google Play Music made additional members part of the same group to purchase through Google Play. Amazon Music seems to have done the same, adding family members will mean those people can make purchases with the details associated with the main account - preventing you from sharing your family account with just friends (they'll be buying things off amazon with your credit card details).

To prevent misuse, I can see why Deezer has implemented its family account with the one master password. I've made peace with it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Hi @Saraceno

I don't mind it the only problem I have is that on many devices (e.g. Amazon Alexa/Google Mini, some music systems (I think Sonos but I'm not sure)) you can't use a secondary profile to play music it only works with the master account... I'm REALLY hoping Deezer fixes this in 2019!! (I've bought a Google Mini for a family member for Xmas and they can't use Deezer on it 😞 )
All of the above from Saraceno, and you will probably like it when other members delete a playlist or change your favorite songs.

please Deezer make this work with stand alone (semi connected) accounts with own paswords.
Fair call. I was pointing out some of the positives.

Understand about the Sonos and other smart devices which won't know to switch profiles etc. And agree there is the potential for entire playlists to be deleted by another member - would be frustrating. You'd have to contact support as there is no playlist trash feature?

(Could be a future improvement. Trash feature which only holds 24 hours worth of deletions. 'Just heard' helps with finding individual tracks listened to, but not entire playlists deleted or tracks deleted without being listened to.)

Another negative: would family members be able to post on the forum if they are using a secondary account? It requires the standard Deezer login.

Deezer would be missing out on growing its community if that were the case.
HI @Saraceno

you can undelete - deleted playlists for 30 days at least so no scares (I have the link somewhere).

I agree about the community missing out and also many potential family users with Alexa's etc thinking Deezer is not the best solutions for them!
I have to say Spotify solved this in an elegant way.

Each family member has it's own account and you just need to invite the member to be part of the family. No need to know aboit the master account. Whish this would be same with Deezer.

That's the right solution. Everyone is keeping their playlist, no need to messing around with how to transfer playlist, favorites etc ...

Also, everyone in my family can go through my account, subscription ... not that I don't trust them, but kids can accidentally cancel or change subscription ... And everyone can see other account. You just select it. There is no privacy at all.
Hey Deezer - any plans to implement a change to this? I have the same issue - I have bought family for my kids to use on their google home speakers, but when they "play my flow" they get my music from the main account, not their own music. Plus as others have said, giving them the ability to easily switch profile and mess with my playlists is a poor idea.

After 5 years with Deezer this is a deal breaker for me, as it seems Spotify Family gives fully independent profiles for the same price.

Thanks
Add ability to add different logins for each profile on family plans. By forcing everyone on the account to know the master password it lessens the security of the account. Also if I create a profile designated as "Kids", them having the master password allows them to simply go in and make it a regular account.

A better setup would be I add a new email address to the account, Deezer sends them a link to create a password and profile that the person sets up and also allows me to limit what the other profiles have access to.

In the current setup if I kick out my crazy girlfriend that lives with me i have to first change my deezer password before kicking her out of the house so she can't mess with my account, then she'll know I am about to break up with her when she can't login to deezer anymore, totally ruining the surprise.
Hi @AtomB

Vote for the idea here 😉
I have a Forerunner 645 Music and a Deezer Family account with 3 profiles.

During Running I want to change the profile so I can hear my Music, but it is not possible.

I only can hear the Playlist of the main profile.

Why is it not possible to change the profile for each Account member?
Hi there @kkoepfchen

I've moved your comment here so that we can count on your vote to bring the idea forward 😉
We have a Deezer family account. We primarily use Deezer through Sonos. It is frustrating that you can only use the master account for this. Is this likely to change anytime soon. If this isn't rectified and bearing mind the 2 recent occasions when there have been loss of service through Sonos it is becoming increasingly tempting to switch to Spotify
Hi @Debl

I've moved your comment here so that you vote for this idea to be implemented - we'd like to see it as much as you do!
Thanks I have voted, although I have now made the decision to switch to Spotify. It doesn't look like this will be changed anytime soon. I had a message from Deezer yesterday stating they don't know if this will even ever happen and not likely soon. We use Sonos for most of the listening in our house meaning the family account has limited use for us.
@Debl

I understand it completely - hopefully we can get this feature implemented and maybe we can sway you back! 😉
Hi,

Sonos, Bose, any smart speakers like alexa or google home or any other hardwares can only use master profile.

I looked your API, and there is nothing that allow to switch profile.

Either you update your family account and allow member family to have email/password

either you update your API to allow to get profile list and switching .

At least, make a trick like email:profile/password to login to a specific profile.

We are in 2019 and it's smart home time.

This request has been made for many months.

You have to answer to your customers needs !

Regards,
Trying to use Deezer on Fitbit and it does not seem to work. Also, sharing passwords, even in the family, is horrible practice from a security point of view.
HI @JuliaDin

I have a family account and a fitbit. I'm the master profile and that works great with fitbit but only the master account, other family members can't use it 😞 (I'm hoping Deezer are going to change the log in procedure in the future!) 🙂
Why you don't complain about this on Netflix? It's the same functionality and I don't see the problem. No one complains how that work on there.

The only real problem here is if some functionalities aren't working with the secondary. All the profiles should be as primary profile.
It would be better if you could create different codes to give to your family member instead of giving them access to the master account so you donโ€™t have to worry of them changing your thing on Deezer.
Hi there @The_Io_Gamer

Thanks for this suggestion, it's a different way to look at it. I've moved it here so that it joins the idea about separate logins. Please vote if you haven't 😉
