Allow multiple logins for Family Subscription

Our master account is mine and I've created two secondary accounts: my wife, and my daughter (6 years old).

Could we add a way to have the secondary accounts log in without needing to log into the master account? Here are the reasons:

1. I use a really complex password that my wife cannot remember.
2. My daughter is using our old Squeezebox and it only can connect to the master account and no secondary. If the secondary user could independently log in, that wouldn't be a problem. I'm guessing many more apps would act like this.
3. Sonos only allows 1 Deezer source per email address. Allowing secondary user login would circumvent this issue.
4. My Master account isn’t interested in kiddy music but because we do listen to kiddy music on Sonos and Squeezebox, the Flow will be affected by and ruin it.

Family members can be added to a Deezer Family plan as an Independent account with their own password or a Profile. Please see here -

Hi everyone, we're improving our family subscription and working on tons of ideas, but we want to be very honest with you guys and we're not working on this idea right now. It means that we're still considering it, but it won't be our priority at the moment. We'll keep this topic updated as soon as we have any more news!

Please take these comments seriously as the way the login or security for the family accounts work now is really not satisfying. It is absolutely not showing any respect to the users when you try to explain your own rules as an answer and there are so many examples for better solutions!
So please make a viable solution soon so we do not have to worry about sharing passwords.
Also adding free accounts to family accounts should be much more easy, also disconnecting them. All without copying numbers and playlists.

Agreed.  I’ll be deleting my account before the free trial is finished, and moving to spotify.

The only thing that's prohibiting me upgrading to a family account is the fact that everyone has to login with a shared email and password and therefore can view each other's profiles (as mentioned on this page). This means that each family profile has no privacy.

Your Family Plan is like Netflix, where everyone logs in with a shared email and password and can click on any profile, but should be more like Spotify, where every user logs in with their own email and password and has a Family Plan Leader who arranges things like the billing and the plan itself.

I am aware that you won't be supporting individualised accounts for each family profile any time soon. However, here's a simple thought, can you not add a simple password onto each family profile so that other family members can't access it? Or even more basic... a 4 digit PIN code?

This solves a lot of problems and is pretty easy to implement.

Funny how this would have maximum 6 times the votes if all the members in the family plan could log in with their own username..and upvote this. I support the PIN code idea.

Hi all,

is there now anything happening on this topic? Seems not so complicated to implement or? I assume the 4 digit code solution would be the best and easiest solution.

From my perspective it would also be sufficent if the kids account/profile, once activated on a smartphone, would be locked to this profile, so only be deinstalling and reentering the password and account details, a profile switch would be possible.

Hi there @pgrzona

Thank you for your support.

We've got an update on this: our product managers will be considering a different way for Family profiles to log in, in the new year. So the feedback from this thread is actually very helpful :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi There,

i am Deezer user since few years and ive just upgraded to Family. I found there is a real treath on the way the family account is managed: every member logs in with the same credential than he/she have to switch to his/her profile.

It’s all perfect in a perfect world but unfortunatly aint like this, Each member should have an admin, the person which manage the account or put his/her credit card, than each member MUST have a password to log rightly in his/her profile and do not mess somebody else’s one. Problem gets bigger with yongest or infant:

We try to be safe and have their right channel for ‘em then suddenly they switch to Dad profile and they could listen explicit and stuff like that which I would avoid for my daughter for a while. Than I know would tell me I would have to patrol them, sure I do, but music is the only permission and fun she would have over an ipad or so. I wish you would understand my point, of course situation it’s always all good unless we face the real world.

Thanks, please at time being is not possible I understand it but at same time being I wish you guys could work on it.

Really??? No way:)

I love your Flow

But Family plan is really sucks and not secure! Maybe when you change this system you get more new subscribers.
