Do you know those albums where you can't figure out when a track starts and ends? Melodies seamless moving from one to another, like an eager humming-bird from flower to flower …
Of course you do!
Put the philosophical moment aside, you've been asking us about this feature for quite some time now
We've worked and worked hard to finally deliver to you a standard you deserve:Gapless playback.
The feature isn't surely new to the world but it took some sweat to be implemented in our super vast catalogue. In fact, we're doing this gradually so that your listening experience runs smoothly, without any hiccups - literally
For those who aren't familiar with the technical stuff, this is what we're talking about:
Audio formats such as MP3 and FLAC add tiny little gaps of silence before and after the track, which can be disruptive to listening when the content recorded wasn't intended to have gaps between each track - a good example being a recording of a live album or concert. Gapless playbackwill remove these gaps at the beginning and end, to offer an improved listening experience.
For now, this is for our mobile Android and iOS apps - and for HiFi users only. This is because our FLAC catalogue doesn't need re-encoding (the tracks are ready for the feature) but our MP3's will need some polishing before everyone can enjoy it. And remember, there's no need to switch anything on, we've taken care of that for you
So if you're on Android and can't wait, update your app to 6.2.1 (you must be a Beta user) and if you're on iOS, this should already be a part of your life but if it isn't, you just need to wait a bit longer
For our desktop app and web users, don't worry, we're finishing it too
What's the first album you're listening to? Let us know below!
Can't wait to get your Premium subscription on gapless too? Please see here for more info
It's being rolled-out gradually - so wait for your turn

Thanks Deezer
Great stuff !
I’m using Deezer 8.12.1.1 on iPhone 8 with iOS 13.3.1 with all audio quality set to HiFi through Custom in Audio settings. I’m also from Manila, Philippines, if that’s relevant to this issue.
I don't know if it's just true for my iPhone, but whenever I play continuous albums (Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, for example) using Deezer(HiFi), I do not get a truly gapless playback. There's, well, a gap between supposedly continues tracks. And it's worse using Chromecast Audio, which I realize is another issue. When I play the records using Spotify, on the other hand, I get real gapless playback.
Is it a matter of implementation or slow rollout? Also, could it mean that I’m actually getting the MP3 instead of the FLAC version of the albums although I have the audio quality set to HiFi and the Queue Display is saying it’s playing in HiFi?
I really like the CD quality streaming in Deezer (if indeed it is that, I think I can hear the better quality compared to 320 kbps on Spotify), especially as it is the only service like that here in Manila. And I want to love it and switch to it completely. But things like gapless playback implementation, software updates, and reliable Chromecast Audio streams, among others are making me hold on to my Spotify account for now. Having said that, just for the HiFi streaming alone, I'd be glad to continue paying for Deezer HiFi.
Hey @bokolobs
Thanks for your detailed feedback. It's a gradual rollout, you'll be getting it soon!
Once you do, please let me know what you think
By the way, I'll be passing those other comments to our teams here, thanks again.
Thanks @Rudi . Will post here when I get the update.
Hey @Rudi !
I’m happy to report that I just got the Gapless playback option in the Deezer Labs menu and that it works as it should! This is great!
Will wait for the desktop and Chromecast implementation.
Thanks again! And good luck to the whole team!
Thanks a lot @bokolobs super happy you're enjoying it as much as I am!
really looking forward!!!! Still not my turn, but waiting impatiently ^^
Great job , I just subscribed to HiFi after reading this, gapless playback is a must for some albums.
So happy to see traction on this. Doesn’t seem to have rolled out to my 6S yet, but gaps do seem to be shorter than before …
This is another idea bumped up by the feedback from our community @tjgavlick@Bence S.
If I cast to a cast enabled speaker from the Deezer app on my phone, will it be gapless?
I keep checking to see if I've gotten the feature but nothing yet 😢
It'll certainly be gapless if it's FLAC (Deezer HiFi) @schlambo - soon, soon
Great to see this. It is a must have feature for a pink floyd fan. Thanks and finally. forever and ever. Shine on.
Oh boy, that „slow rollout“ seems to be superslow. Still no gapless here. :-(

Hey @morifanty, good things happen to those who wait
@EEAlexHay YOU'RE WELCOME! x30
@Rudi
Gapless is available as an option under Labs (premium beta user here)...is it supposed to be like that or..?
Hi there @Lorenzo
Glad you asked, it can be confusing.
For all HiFi users, our FLAC catalogue will be gapless.
For iOS Beta users, you can activate a tool we're trialling, that applies gapless to the tracks in MP3 (see the bottom of the topic above about Premium users, there's a link)
When will this be available? I've been checking daily and have confirmed I'm on the latest beta.
About to just go back to Spotify and deal with the worse audio quality. Their platform is obviously more developed.
I got it!! But is it possible that just a couple of songs on gapless albums are good gapless? Some songs still have a little gap or they don’t follow each other well 😞 incl Pink Floyd album as original example above here
@Martijn.Keymis On which device and OS are you using it, and are you a Premium or HiFi user? If Premium and iOS beta version, it might be the new feature of “live” eliminating the gap.
Hi there @schlambo
Every week more and more users get access to the feature - this is to avoid problems. Keep us posted

I’m a beta android user, HIFI Deezer. So unfortunately 😞 not the live option you’ve called
