I used to use FLOW all the time, but it played the same music over and over, sometimes one song would play twice in 15 minutes. When I recently discovered "Shuffle My Music" I was happy because I could see what was going to be played and it wouldn't repeat anything (at least not for the 50 songs of the playlist). However, "Shuffle My Music" still suffers from issues FLOW had, namely only playing one or two specific songs from favourite artists and playing the same songs every time. If I pressed "Shuffle My Music" multiple times you can be sure that 80% of the songs in any playlist would be in every other playlist.
So, my question: how do I fix My Music? How do I get FLOW or "Shuffle My Music" to have variety? How do I get more than one song from an artist (no matter how many albums and songs they may have) to play?

When "shuffling" my music, I get always the same playlist in the same order ^^. On both my PC and my phone it is the same order. The order stays the same. That's not shuffling, thats a playlist.

Here I am back after 1 month.
I've re-checked three issues I had. Let's see how Deezer improved
- Random songs not from your library when you first open the app - still exists
- Pressing "Shuffle my music" always starts with the same song - still exists
- Random songs, that you didn't add to the library appear on the playlist - still exists
- Shuffle my musics gives you almost the same output everytime (same songs, maybe a little different order) - still exists
Overall 0/4 bugs fixed.
Sorry guys. I had hope 😞
Shuffle My Music and the playlist is always the same 15 songs. phone, browser or desktop app, no difference. With phone I can skip those 15 songs and then a new playlist appears, not the most convenient way of doing things and only works with phone...
It seems that this problem with shuffle my music has been an issue for a while now, are you actually doing something to fix this?

Hi there, sorry about that. But it's not a bug. It's just that this is a simplified version of the feature with a basic algorithm, which is why you experience this. We are working on a better algorithm for the future, but I don't have an ETA yet. But we will need to wait for the new version of the feature to be released.
When I press the shuffle button, while using the app with my mobile or computer, it plays the SAME songs again. Really annoying, especially when paying for a premium account.
HI there, please describe this further. Where exactly do you press the shuffle button? In a playlist or are you talkiing about "Shuffle My Music"? And what do you mean by SAME songs. Is it exactly the same queue or are there only some songs always in the queue when you press the button?
Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue and it's even worse when I use the "Discover" flow playlist. I listened to this yesterday evening and the day before and the playlist consisted of the SAME songs in the exact same order. I skipped maybe 15-20 songs and they were all repeats from the day before, in the same order (seemingly, I did not do 100% thorough check).
Maybe I don't understand what "Discover" is supposed to be, but I was under the impression that it suggested unheard tracks based on what you listen to, starting from a seed of artists. At a minimum, if it plays the same songs, it should at least shuffle them.
Suggestion: It would be awesome if a user could pick 4-5 albums or artists and hit a button to create a "Discover" flow playlist for them to listen to based on the artists selected. Even better would be giving users the ability to define how much "variance" or how "risky" the algorithm is in determining what to play.
I'm listening to music non-stop at work and the playlists are getting pretty stale.
Other features that would help in alleviating these issues:
I made the mistake placing ONE Coldplay song in my favorites and now flow thinks I am a HUUUUGE Coldplay fan. Despite skipping these songs every time, it still plays them. Not sure how to fix this.

Other features that would help in alleviating these issues:
- the ability to "Time-out" a song so that it won't play for a week (or some user definable period)
- skipping a song should stop it from playing again in the same playlist
- "play a different mood" button which would redirects the flow to a different style
- skipping a song should slowly reduce the likelihood of that song being played in a future playlist

some of your feedback was already mentioned in our ideas forum. I'd suggest you browse through the forum a bit and vote for the ideas you like :)
Regarding the "skipping" feedback: Are you talking about Flow or playlists?

Flow, I think.
Thanks for the reply, I didn't know that discover and flow tabs were static playlists. I find it weird that it starts over instead of continuing where you left off though.
In other news, I just listened to Flow and within 15 songs, the song "That's my N****" played three times and the song "Heart of the moment" also played three times. That's just too much repetition. It's like the algorithm is stuck in a rut.
Hey, I'd like fresh music please! 😉
Hi @Valou82 , I believe you need to do a bit of work with your Flow 🙂 Please see how to improve your Flow here. 😉
I still have this problem and I cleared out my cache, but even on desktop it uses the same 50 songs.
I used to love this function, now I totally disgust it and I avoid it like the plague.

Problem was still there last time I checked... I finally solved it by canceling by account and going to a competitor app. I'm not paying for an app that doesn't deliver basics. Sorry Deezer, so long!
Thanks for the reply, Rafael. :)
Is this what you are referring to?
-------------
Improving your Flow
If you’ve only just started with Deezer, Flow only knows what you picked when you signed up. So it might not get it right all the time.
The basic way to improve your Flow, is by adding more content to your favorites Whether it’s an album, an artist, a track; Flow absorbs it all.
--------------
I do have over 200 tracks in my favorites and 40 or so artists, in theory, flow should have plenty of things to chose from without picking the same songs 6 times over 15 songs.

Hi, not only this, but also disliking songs! 😉

Sorry guys. I had hope :(
Ok so this thread has been going on since 8 month now, and this issue hasen't been fix yet.
Is that a well-thought feature ? I mean if your dev team can't just add a real random button to the playbar, just fire them already !
So this is my question: Why is that a feature ?
As i can see from this thread im not the only one frustated by this.

Hi there, as Flo said above, our developers are working on this part at the moment, but we do not know when the changes will be live, but hopefully soon!
Lots of people the same issue, and lots of commitments to go away and look at the problem. No solutions. I just wonder if there is a more simple explanation. Deezer probably pay varying royalty rates to different artists, so what you get in your shuffle is what maximises the bottom line. Just a thought....
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂 The way our shuffle works is not linked to royalties at all... I'm sorry that it doesn't work in the way you guys are expecting and we are definitely taking your feedback into consideration. Deezer is in continuous improvement process and we will keep passing all feedbacks on to our devs! 😉
As a paying user I expect my full list of favourites to be played completely randomly so that I can enjoy the service I'm paying for and hear all the songs I've selected.
Presumably you have a product backlog and your devs are delivering in fortnightly sprints. Can you confirm whether this user story or something like it, exists in the backlog and whether it is considered something that should be prioritised as something that diminishes your minimal viable product?
If so, it shouldn't take longer than two weeks to deploy a fix and seriously, how hard can it be to code an algorithm like this?

Hi, as explained above, this isn't something to be fixed, it's just how it works. We will keep passing the feedback on to our devs, but from my side I have no other info...
Of course it's something to be fixed. Eight months of feedback in this one thread alone, and there are others with different titles that describe the same problem. It's not a random selection and that's what it's sold as. How can you be.so complacent?
