You can’t create an account on Deezer without selecting a gender, male/female/non-binary. “Non-binary” has a very specific meaning in the LBGTQ+-community. This does not indicate that one does not want to tell you their gender, it means that one does not identify fully with being either male or female.

IMO gender is not useful information needed to deliver a music service, and neither do I want gender based suggestions. Let the music stand on it’s own.

Please remove the requirement for “gender identity”. I’d rather not tell you, as I find it completely irrelevant for a music service.

Another solution would be to either add a “Not relevant” or “Prefer not to say” option.

Agreed.

We have passed this on!

Thank you! I also find this requirement very annoying. Would prefer not to be asked as it is irrelevant, but a no anwser option at a minimum would be appreciated.

to be completely cynical, i doubt any streaming service is going to give up their “GDPR compliant” personal data scraping. it would tank their ad revenue if they can’t go to their advertisers with neatly labeled buckets of Male/Female/Non-Binary users (alongside exact birthdays, locations, and god knows what other personal data they’re stealing off your SSO account or other local cookies)
