Downloads sorting change

So normally when I’m out and about I use the Deezer app (on Android), and just this morning I discovered a change to the Downloads section.

Up until yesterday my Downloads section was sorted A-Z by Artist, then Album. As of today that has been changed, and the list is no longer sorted at all. I reached out to Deezer support on this issue and this is what they responded to me with.

“ Deezer is always looking for ways to make your music experience better, faster and more seamless.
To achieve this, with the launch of the most recent version for Android 8.0.27, we have made a technical change by removing the A-Z sorting feature.
This decision was made to prioritize speed and improve how quickly your Playlists and Favourite tracks load. We understand this may feel like a change to how you organize your music, but our focus is on delivering a faster, more intuitive experience so you can spend more time enjoying your favourite tunes.”

Pardon my language, but this is a crock of sh*t. I have several hundred albums downloaded on my phone to make listening easier on the go, and now it will be impossible for me to find what I’m looking for. Nothing about this is intuitive or faster, and loading my Downloads has never been a problem.

IMO this change needs to be reverted immediately, and whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired.

Hi @everyone! Great news – the option to sort Downloads is making a comeback! 🎉

I don’t have a launch date yet, but it’s on the way.

I'm so pleased the option to sort will be coming back!!

I've been a premium subscriber for over 12 years and was also thinking of going elsewhere like the others above.

Hopefully the recently downloaded section will also make a return too?!

The sorting of the downloaded content by alphabetical order will be back tomorrow in the Android beta version and will follow in the public release 2 weeks later.

The feature is available in v8.0.33.3, which began rolling out progressively to all users on Monday. You should receive it very soon.

I downloaded the beta version a couple of weeks ago to be able to get this functionality back.

In my opinion it's not perfect though, and not as good as it was before it all went, but better than nothing at all.....

@Greg.Deezer great to see that a sorting and search functionality has been added to the downloaded music section!

However I have noticed that the A-Z option sorts them in alphabetical order of the ALBUM name, there is no option to sort on Artist (unlike in for instance the Album section, where you can select to sort on both album or artist). Please restore this functionality to sort on ARTIST name in downloaded music as well

(And please remove the download suggestions on top, uses a huge amount of screen space, with very little additional value. Restoring last downloaded albums, as it was, is more useful)
