Downloads sorting change

So normally when I’m out and about I use the Deezer app (on Android), and just this morning I discovered a change to the Downloads section.

Up until yesterday my Downloads section was sorted A-Z by Artist, then Album. As of today that has been changed, and the list is no longer sorted at all. I reached out to Deezer support on this issue and this is what they responded to me with.

“ Deezer is always looking for ways to make your music experience better, faster and more seamless.
To achieve this, with the launch of the most recent version for Android 8.0.27, we have made a technical change by removing the A-Z sorting feature.
This decision was made to prioritize speed and improve how quickly your Playlists and Favourite tracks load. We understand this may feel like a change to how you organize your music, but our focus is on delivering a faster, more intuitive experience so you can spend more time enjoying your favourite tunes.”

Pardon my language, but this is a crock of sh*t. I have several hundred albums downloaded on my phone to make listening easier on the go, and now it will be impossible for me to find what I’m looking for. Nothing about this is intuitive or faster, and loading my Downloads has never been a problem.

IMO this change needs to be reverted immediately, and whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired.

Hi @everyone! Great news – the option to sort Downloads is making a comeback! 🎉

I don’t have a launch date yet, but it’s on the way.

I'd agree with @WznOwen that sorting by A-Z of Artist would be way more useful, and I'd also like to see the last downloaded section return too please!

Yes, some semblance of order, now. But sort by artist is the most useful feature. Please bring back!!

Adding my voice into all of this -

As others have said having some sorting is great, and I see a search option that I didn’t see before, but it used to auto-sort by artist and then album which is far more useful than just sorting by album. Please either bring it back to how it was or expand the options.

I'm new here, just downloaded Deezer few days ago. My downloads can be sorted by album name, or recents. A-Z works, but recents makes no sense whatsoever, I'll add something totally new and it'll appear at some random location in the list. this is probably a deal breaker for me. Like a lot of people, I use my phone for music in the car, and ease of use is huge so I'm not having to look too much at the phone. So even though it functions, A-Z isn't practical for this, while if sorted by recent at least that new thing I want to check out is as the top, or would be, if there was any logic here.
