Song/Artist/Album isn't on Deezer - What happens if I can't find the music I want?

DEEZER CATALOGUE - something is missing :mag_right:

We're really sorry to know the tracks you love isn't on Deezer. Not all artists and rights' holders choose to add their music on our platform. We always respect their wishes so some music isn't available or might be temporarily removed.

Some of the reasons for this are:

RIGHTS' HOLDERS :microphone:

If an artist has a large discography with different rights' holders controlling different albums you can sometimes find gaps in the catalogue - if a certain rights' holder hasn't yet agreed to allow the music they control to be streamed online.

TERRITORY :globe_with_meridians:

Streaming rights are also defined by territory - country, region, location. The tracks that appear in the search box when you're looking for music are the songs that are available in all territories. In a small number of cases, a user in a different country may not have access to different tracks so an "unavailable in your country" message appears when they try to listen to it.

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? :weary:

We're constantly updating and re-negotiating our agreements with rights' holders and thousands of tracks are added to our catalogue every single week.

You can try a couple of things:

  • Add your MP3 collection to Deezer :calling:
  • Contact the artist via their social media channels and request for the tracks/albums to be added to Deezer, we take care of the rest :nerd:

Hello,

Can you guys ask for the following singles by Isaiah Rashad:

Smile (2016/Top Dawg Entertainment)

Nelly (2015/Top Dawg Entertainment)

I didn’t see a response to my last reply, but the ask still stands:

2 Chainz : B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME (2013/Def Jam Recordings)

2 more requests for the explicit versions of these albums. Only the clean versions are on Deezer:

Kid Cudi : Man On The Moon: The End Of Day (Deluxe) (Explicit) (2009/Universal Records)

Jay-Z : Magna Carta... Holy Grail (Explicit) (2013/Roc Nation)

Jay-Z has only three albums that have the full version of Explicit, and the rest either do not have, or have but partially. Therefore, in a good way, you need to make all the albums in the Explicit version. I am glad that I am not the only person who is confused by this just listening to the Censored version is impossible because it hurts your ears.

Hey @DanRow

It's been a bit complicated with Jay-Z, let's say. But we're trying to get more and better content and I can only agree with you that listening an edited version must be uncomfortable.

Thanks for the feedback and support so far!

Rudi, I understand you because on some streaming sites there is no Jay-Z at all, namely some of his albums. I hope you can add some of his albums to the Explicit version. Thank you for reading)

Hi there!

Sometimes songs or complete albums aren’t available (anymore). It’s usually related to Kpop. I haven’t had this problem in any other song of any other genre I added to my playlists. As example:

  • Artist: Loona | Album: [x x] | All songs > I haven’t been able to find this album for more than a year, while previous/next albums are available.
  • Artist: Everglow | Album: -77.82x-78.29 | Song: Untouchable > This song is suddenly unavailable, while the rest still is.
  • Artist: Berry Good | Album: Very Berry | All songs > I could understand this one, because this group isn’t as popular. Also their newest single ‘Accio’ isn’t available, while it is on Spotify. But again, this group isn’t really popular.

The reason why I joined Deezer 2 years ago, was because of the support of HiFi, which Spotify didn’t have. But if songs go missing suddenly, or songs/albums never get added while they do on Spotify, then Spotify slowly becomes more attractive, despite of not having HiFi (and the native support Spotify has on Tesla which Deezer doesn’t have either sadly).

I know you guys and girls do the best you can, but could there please be more attention to Kpop? Thank you!
