Song/Artist/Album isn't on Deezer - What happens if I can't find the music I want?

DEEZER CATALOGUE - something is missing

We're really sorry to know the tracks you love isn't on Deezer. Not all artists and rights' holders choose to add their music on our platform. We always respect their wishes so some music isn't available or might be temporarily removed.

Some of the reasons for this are:

RIGHTS' HOLDERS :microphone:

If an artist has a large discography with different rights' holders controlling different albums you can sometimes find gaps in the catalogue - if a certain rights' holder hasn't yet agreed to allow the music they control to be streamed online.

TERRITORY :globe_with_meridians:

Streaming rights are also defined by territory - country, region, location. The tracks that appear in the search box when you're looking for music are the songs that are available in all territories. In a small number of cases, a user in a different country may not have access to different tracks so an "unavailable in your country" message appears when they try to listen to it.

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? :weary:

We're constantly updating and re-negotiating our agreements with rights' holders and thousands of tracks are added to our catalogue every single week.

You can try a couple of things:

Add your MP3 collection to Deezer
Contact the artist via their social media channels and request for the tracks/albums to be added to Deezer, we take care of the rest

I’m into jpop and ther’s something strange - AKB48, the biggest idol group in Japan has a very barebones page, with only songs from around 2006-2010! (Don’t be fooled by the upload date - e.g. Aitakatta is from 2006 yet has been uploaded on 2018)

Its “sister” group (they both belong to AKB48 Group) HKT48 however has a fantastic catalogue, with all albums in all versions (each of the AKB48/HKT48 groups albums come out in versions A, B, C ...)/ Have a look yourself!

That’s a night and day difference in catalogue completeness and with both groups being under the same parent group and managed by the same entity, the difference in catalgue quality feels like an oversight! Could you please check if its an oversight?

I asked them on contact form. They have a section for song requests.

I asked rapper Lecrae and his album Gravity. I asked on first day when Deezer Premium customer last summer, I am Google Music refugee listening hard dance, but they didn’t have this master of rap. I asked because I couldn’t find feedback form to this rapper for Deezer upload to ask.

This album. Last month not only they released it, but deluxe album as well.

Recommended to write them. They do listen. And so do I, master of rap, Free From it All.

Vangelis - El Greco - 3 tracks out of 10 are available in my country. Now don’t tell me, the other tracks have legal issues and those 3 don’t. Can this annoying “not available in your country” problem solved?
