Almost the whole 'bob seger' catalogue is vanished from Deezer...why oh why??

And yes, I know that it has to do with rights, distributors and so on. I did get the official answer by mail.

But why do I still find them in my tidal and qobuz accounts and not on deezer. The latter are only used in my hifi room, deezer is used via my family account. The UI/UX is the one most liked by my family members…

“ You’ll accomp’ny me ”  is in several of my playlists, I do miss it when I’m in the car or jogging.
And yes, I could use my tidal lists, but waze/googlemaps and tidal don’t seem to want to work together anymore, so that’s  a no-go.

Rights are negotiated for each platform and for each type of subscription too, and sometimes a song might available for Deezer Premium subscribers but not for Family.
If something’s missing and was in the catalogue before, probably will be available again soon.
Thanks for your patience

Bob’s official releases haven’t been on Deezer for ages now. It’s one of a few reasons I’ve been thinking about switching to another streaming service

Big question on why Bob Seger isn’t on Deezer, why haven’t Deezer done a deal with him, every other streaming service has

Geez, I am playing Bob Seeger right now on Deezer, an album released in 2025, January 16. As well I see lots of tracks with the Silver Bullet Band. Perhaps it is related to what country you might be in?

Yes, it is a release of Seger live at Boston Music Hall, March 21, 1977.

This thread is four to five months old - is there any way to find out if Deezer is actually trying to obtain Bob Segar’s discography currently? Is there any sort of status update that anyone might be able to guide me to? If not, no big deal. I’ll do some digging. I just joined Deezer from Spotify due to the ridiculous AI fest Spotify has become. I love the audio quality Deezer offers, but, I have noticed multiple instances of Deezer not having entire discographies for artists. As a reference, most of my searches on Deezer have been 60s and 70s era music. Anyhow, if anyone has a snapshot update on Bob Segar’s discography (which is amazing), I’d be much appreciative!

I can't give to an answer, but I took a look at the other streaming service and those albums aren't available there.

So I think that is something else why it isn't on Deezer.

Hopefully someone else can give you an answer.

Bob Seger’s albums are on every streaming service apart from “Deezer”, at least here in the UK. Qobuz got them lasr year, no idea what’s going on with Deezer and why they don’t have them

I dig a tiny bit of digging and as folks have stated, licensing is a key factor. However, it goes beyond that. Bob Segar himself plays a role in this discography issue. I located a great article that details what is going on and why. Here is the link: https://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2017/03/29/521642313/where-have-all-the-bob-seger-albums-gone

It is a longer read. It goes into detail about various songs and history, but, the latter portion really lays out why Bob Segar albums are not readily available on digital streaming platforms, as well as, why we see compilations and Christmas Special appearances instead of the 70s rock albums we’re looking for. It’s well written and worth the time for this subject of interest. Cheers all!

Caveat: Spotify does have Bob Seger’s discography, so, let’s go Deezer.
