Hi,

Using Chromecast has never been easy with Deezer, an issue I have now is that, sometimes, when playing my flow on my Chromecast Audio, the cast seems to crash, and when I restart the app it reconnects to the Chromecast but the song being played is the first one I heard on my flow.

Second issue is that, when trying to get back to the song I was listening to (after the previous bug), I quickly click on the next button (skipping 1~2 songs) until the cast seems to crash (music stopped and the bottom "Being played" bar disappears but the "Listening" icon on upper right side is still animated like in the screenshot).

When I do the same with my Android TV, the "Being played" screen freezes on this view (buttons do nothing):

But I can still swipe down to hide it and do something else on Deezer.

In both cases, when I press the play button on upper right side of the screen (next to the Cast icon) like in the first screenshot, the playlist is playing again from the beginning.

I also had this issue (at least once) on the normal Deezer app (not Beta). And I am currently using the 6.2.45.1.

Do you have any news regarding the Chromecast ?

Meanwhile, I have found another issue with the Chromecast : the "Recently played" playlist cannot be played at all on a Chromecast (I have tried with both the Android app and my browser on my laptop).

Also regarding all the problems with the Chromecast, because Spotify is working way much better with it, could it be linked to the use of Spotify connect to control it? Hence requesting (from the cloud) the device to skip the song for example, instead of (I suppose you do it like that) manually controlling the Chromecast, and maybe sending all the command at once even though the device is still trying to process the first one?

I do not know the way your app was made and so cannot really judge it as you might have good explanation for those problems, but I am getting more and more frustrated by the way you manage to delay and never solve such issues. The Chromecast has never worked well, the app is mostly slow (see this issue), some issues reported by users in stable version (for example the one with the playing order being reverted) are still present even after more than a year. And the only thing Deezer is saying is "Reinstall the app" (thanks for the 50+Go to redownload), "We will come back to you later" with no news, and finally the great app complete code re-work, that fixed nor improved absolutely nothing on my side (supposing that it is the 7.0 version that has been out for a few weeks now).

Seriously!! No news and it keep crashing

This is still an issue as far as I’m able to tell.

In addition to the above;

 When casting to a Chromecast device and pausing the music the cast connection seems to drop after being paused for less than a minute.

It's been consistent over several versions of the app, a couple versions of Android and 2 different phones. 

 

I'll see what I can gather and report back.

Is anybody else on here having issues casting Deezer to a chromecast device?

I am trying to cast to a Cyrus Onecast amp and it is hopeless.  It drops out constantly.  There is also a huge delay between one track finishing and the next starting. 

I see from other posts that this seems to be have been a long-standing issue going back several years 

It would be good to hear others experience on this.

Things have been working ok for the moment (about 10 songs). However, the notification widget Next buttons never work. The scrubber also doesn't work for manual movement. Play/Pause had a pretty big delay too. The cast connection to my Chromecast with Google TV did connect but took about twice as long as it services I've used.

Several more songs into another song mix and the mosaic stopped mid-song. It wouldn't start playing again. I disconnected the cast and tried to reconnect but I got a warning that the content could not load. I chose another song mix and was able to start the cast again. However, the notification widget is now gone. 

 

This behavior isn't limited to playing song mixes. It happens no matter how I chose to play music.

I'm trying Flow now. The notification widget came back when I started playing Flow (still casting).

The issue with pausing music while casting happened this morning. I had music paused for 15 minutes. Upon trying to play music again the app doesn't respond by playing music. The app isn't frozen in any way other than not playing the music that was paused. I disconnected the cast and the music still wouldn't play from the paused position. I was able to select next track to get it going again. But, when trying to reconnect cast I was again given a warning about not being able to load content. I went to a different app for a minute and came back to the Deezer app not showing anything playing.
