tell me the duo joining secrets please

the duo joining process is unclear.  which password should the invitee put in their box ?  a new one of their own choice or the main admin password.?  how does one stop the response from deezer taking you to the plans choice page - the plan is already duo!

someone cocked up on the instructions for inviting / responding. please give clarity!!!
