How to stop auto play on Deezer - when last track ends

Hi

I simply want to stop deezer automatically playing new/random music when my track/album ends.

Not interested in recommendations, I just want to control what I to listen to (at all times), not what some AI thinks I want.

This is easy in spotify, but I can't find this simple setting in Deezer. Trial started today

This is a deal breaker, I like the app so far.

Android - Samsung S9 - deezer up to date

Hey @mareep@Neebl Have you deactivated the “Automated recommendations”? You have to do it from browser or desktop app. Start playing the album, Open the queue, Scroll down and deactivate Automated recommendations.

This isn't an adequate answer. Of course I've deactivated the “Automated recommendations" in the queue. The autoplay is still happening when I'm casting to my smart speakers.

Apologies everyone, just wanted to make sure it was deactivated! This is an abnormal behaivour, I have notified our devs team about it. Thanks for reporting it.

OK, thank you. But do I have this do this with every album? I am nearly exclusively listing to albums from front to back. It would be really annoying to get autoplay every time I forget this. Are there plans to implement a setting for this to turn it off permanentely?

Just out of curiosity, why not hit the “stop play” button on your device?

Seriously? Because I don’t want to have to use my device every time at exactly the same time the album ends, although this album is designed to end at exactly this time. It is weird to give this question as an answer to a totally logical question. You don’t think it would make sense to make a permanent setting to make albums and playlists end at the moment they are supposed to end?

Hello @Saturninesoul, on the desktop app, if you deactivated the automated recommendations on the queue, unless you delete the app, the option will not turn on again.

Hey @Saturninesoul

I am also an album listener and one of my favorite things about listening to deezer through my Sonos system is that when I select an album, it just plays that album.

When it is complete, it takes me back to the days when I used to put vinyl on my record player. I could decide to flip the LP or select another one, platter it up, and relax and peruse the liner notes.

Enjoying this now.

To stop autoplay on Deezer when the last track ends, you can disable the "Autoplay" feature. Here's how:

  1. Open Deezer and go to the "Now Playing" screen.
  2. Click on the "Queue" icon (usually at the bottom right).
  3. Find the "Autoplay" toggle and switch it off.

Note that the availability and location of this option may vary depending on the device and app version you are using, so it may be useful to consult Deezer's official help documentation for the most accurate instructions.

Still no fix, and I am not accepting a non answer. This is not a bug, this is a decision. This has been broken for at least 7 years now. Looking at Deezer still not fixing it, after almost a decade, this is a choice, they earn more money this way. Should I not get an answer within an appropriate time of two weeks I will forward this to the Bundesnetzagentur and the Verbraucherzentrale Hamburg. They will look into whether Deezer is shuffling in randomly to optimize interaction royalties.

Stop lying. We are paying already. Curb this shady business decision. Greetings from a Network Engineer not oblivious to what is happening in the Business. Nobody has ever touched this issue from the dev team, since the finance team WANTS IT THIS WAY.

Two weeks till I switch to Tidal, unless this shit gets fixed. I'm fed up. I suggested everybody does the same. Same price, waaaaaaaaay better offer. And an option to upgrade quality as well.

Lie and die Deezer.

Hi @beskar, sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations.

To disable autoplay on Deezer desktop app and browser after the last track, you can turn off the "Autoplay" feature.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Open Deezer and navigate to the "Now Playing" screen.
  2. Click on the "Queue" icon, typically found in the bottom right-hand corner.
  3. Locate the "Autoplay" toggle button and switch it off.

Unfortunately, on the mobile phone app this feature it not available as Deezer considers a perfect way to discover news song and artists.

I want to stop listening to the same album after it ends. Why is it do hard? I have been using Deezer for more than ten years. This is something new for me. I am also a software engineer, this kind of dark-patterns make users frustrated. I like recommendations, I just don’t want the same album start all over again.

Doesn’t work when casting.
