Can no longer use Deezer on my device

I’m going to preface this by saying I’m definitely in the minority here as someone who does not own a smart phone and uses an MP4 player.

Until the most recent update, I was able to have Deezer on my MP4 player, and download music to listen to offline. It was perfect for me as someone who listens to a lot of new music but doesn’t always have the time to go on my laptop and download the actual song right away and transfer it over.

It’s disappointing because I don’t see why they couldn’t have just left the older version of the app available in the Google Play store. I’m going to stay subscribed because I like having access to new music right away, Deezer offers lossless, and I don’t like Spotify (never have), but in the future I might just have to consider switching to a Spotify subscription as much as I don’t want to because I’m able to use it on my MP4.

And of course all this comes after the ordeal I went though to connect Deezer to Last.FM LOL…

Hi @popmusiclover, thanks for your message and for your preference on Deezer.

We will be sad if you decide to leave us.

Due to ongoing improvements, at some point we need to disable old versions as they don’t support that releases.

I also still own a lovely Mp4 player but I already moved to a smartphone due to missing features on my player. So maybe time to upgrade your device too 😊.
