Android - Home Screen Widget - Breaks when Casting

Hi! New to Deezer, just checking it out for the first time today after Spotify removed the Android widget feature. Unfortunately, I'm having a little trouble with Deezer's widget too. It starts out working as expected, I can start/stop, skip, etc... But then I open the app to Cast, and upon returning to the homescreen, the widget no longer displays playback controls, rather it just says "Open Deezer". This is not ideal, but fine.... Except that if I click the widget to open Deezer, Deezer does not open, rather the widget goes blank, and will no longer work until I uninstall and reinstall the whole app! I tried just removing and re-adding the widget, but unfortunately, after initiating a cast apparently, the 4x1 playback widget ceases to exist in the widget picker.

Troubleshooting steps: I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, this works until the next time a Cast is initiated. I have moved to the beta version of the app, this worked until the next time I initiated a Cast. I have a Note9 on Android 9 with July's security patch.

      I noticed that all the chat about the Deezer Widget disappearing from home screen ends about 7 months ago.

      I have been having the same issue. It happens whenever I cast to my Chromecast cast devices. 

      If you guys could please offer a proper solution, that'd be great.

        So this is happening only when you're casting? There will be some work done on the widget in the near future, I'll pass your comments on!

        Yes. And it sometimes when I go to look for the widget again, only two appear.  Then all of a sudden three.

          Like I said to you, the widget will get improvements later on in the year - and this is affected by casting, so it overlaps with different teams at Deezer.

          Im just trialing Deezer before I cancel Spotify and in having the exact same issues as described above. 

           

          Widget is a deal breaker for me, is this bug likely to be addressed?

          There have been some improvements recently on the Deezer app for Android. Can you let us know what’s the version of your Android phone and app, please?

          I have the same issue. Pixel 6 up to date. App version 6.4.45.48. Tryelid the beta version.  Not better. Am I to understand that this problem is still not fixed ? I too am trialing before moving my family plan. Deezer is one finalist... but the widget issue is worrisome. Bugs are normal but that one so big  is still not fixed after 2 years is not confidence inspiring...

          Update : The issue is not present on a Pixel 1 running an older version of Android but is reproducible on a Pixel 5 with up-to-date Android as well as on Pixel 6.

          Just to add to this, this issue is still very much present in Android 12, beta app, Xperia 5 iii. The widget goes AWOL when casting. Deezer then offers only two widgets instead of three. Once the cast is over, widget does not appear, but at least can be added to the home screen again.
