Why does my flow isn't endless?

The whole premise of Flow is that it's an endless suggestion of songs, part from my favourites and part from the whole catalogue of likely songs that I might like.

However, it's not endless, not even remotely and it turned into the feature I disliked in Spotify which made me choose Deezer over it in the first place, and that it has an end and basically turned into a playlist.

I many times find myself having to force stop the app amd re-running flow, many times it starts playing new songs but I'm other times, it just start the "playlist" from the beginning and plays the same songs as the previous run in the same order and ends in the same place too. I'm that case, I need to delete the app's cache and data amd basically reset it so I could get a new flow.

It wasn't like this 1 or 2 years ago and it really bugs me because this is the feature that really made me stay with Deezer and not choose Spotify.

Hi, our devs have pushed a permanent fix for this problem which will be available on the next version of the Deezer app. The majority of users will be eligible for the update next week on the versions 9.3 for android users.
Thanks for your patience

How long does it take for an update to arrive?

@Ice_machinE roughly every 2 weeks (9.0.4 is currently on beta)
The next one should be in January.

This is still happening every single time I start a Flow. Stops after 3-5 songs and does not let me press the “next track” button. Running latest iOS on iPhone and Deezer app is updated to the latest version as well. This is a bit ridiculous how long it has taken to find a fix for this. I have cleared the cache and increased the allowable cache to the max, turned off battery saving modes, tried all different types of Flows, have over 1,000 liked songs. Nothing fixes the issue. I switched from Spotify specifically for this feature. I will sadly be returning if there is not a solution soon.

I’ve the same with iOS 26 and the most recent Deezer update. Maybe @Jaime.Deezer could ask if there is an update regarding this?

Maybe using “Shuffle my music” in the meantime would be an alternative for an endless mix, it should play everything in your library, but not recommend new songs and artists. You can start it in your Favorites with the button at the top. I really like it, it reminds me of my Last.fm Library radio.

Same problem on my iOS 26 iPhone. Flow randomly stops generating further. German Community and Email Support couldn’t help me. The Problem does'nt occur on Android, Web or Windows though.

App Version is 11.8.0 (11.8.0.1)

Alright my friends - I have found the culprit of Flow “stopping” after a limited number of songs. Deezer Flow is “endless” unless you click on an artist name and go view their page. Once you do that, Flow will stop generating new tracks until you start a new Flow. However, if you start a Flow and do not click on an artist to view their profile, the Flow is truly endless. I have tested this across many decivces and Flow moods/genres. I assume most of you are like me and enjoy clicking into an artist profile when using flow. Go ahead and test it out by not clicking an artist, and I bet you will have the same results as me - a truly endless Flow.

I am not a tech wizard by any means, but I assume when you view an artist profile of a currently playing song inside of a Flow, this corrupts the data somehow and prevents new tracks from loading in. If anyone else can confirm this, that would be great. But I hope this post gets shown to the right people at Deezer so they can implement a fix.

I for one LOVE to view an artist profile when I find a song I like from an unknown artist in Flow to discover more about them (that is the whole point of Flow after all). Knowing this, I assume this can be an easy fix for the developers to ensure the Flow does not get disrupted when viewing an artist profile. I really hope this is helpful for users and the Deezer team to once and for all fix Flow for iOS users.

If you guys can help me tag the Deezer team that would be great as I do not know who would be best suited to escalate this.

I haven’t tried it, but this could be the answer for why my Flow sometimes isn’t endless. Curious if this could be picked up by the developers.

Yeah…posted this on Reddit and a few people confirmed it was the issue for them as well. As long as you don’t “disturb” the Flow by viewing an artists profile (or do anything else except let the music play), the flow will…flow.

But let’s be real, that’s ridiculous for a paid subscription service. @Jaime.Deezer can you please see if the team can roll out a fix for this? Having one of the most unique features on the entire platform not work properly is a huge pain point and will be the reason I return to Spotify if we cannot find a resolution. This has been an issue for 6+ months on iOS.
