Is Deezer hacked or unsecure?

I got a mail from “Deezer Security Team <securityteam@deezer.com>” with the title “Your privacy may be compromised” and this mail includes a link to download the real Deezer app, the link is “listen.deezer.com/ls/click?...”

I would never click a link in a mail so why are you trying?

As I’m using the Deezer beta app from Google Play Store, it seems that Deezer measures it’s own app as unsecure.

Hello everyone!

This mail is sent if you downloaded an APK Deezer App.

If you downloaded Deezer from the Google Play Store, ignore it ;)

Have a good day!

Same question here. What's going on here?

Is this Deezer having identified that my version of the app is compromised? Or is Deezer saying they've been compromised and I should update? Or is a well put together phishing attack?

Same situation/question from me.

Got the same email today. Have a perfect working annual subscription. I installed the Deezer app for my Android devices directly from the Google Play Store. The login password should also be secure with 16 characters (uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and 2 special characters).

Of course, it's not nice if you receive an email from Deezer that you've been accused of illegal premium use.

Now I'm wondering what's going on, what's the problem?

Hello everyone!

Can you please send me a screenshot of this email?

Don’t open the link in the meantime.

Got the same email from securityteam@deezer.com on April 8th, 2022 8:05am PDT

Just received their Pirated App email while using the official app (as far as I know). I’m a paying customer but I’m running a phone that uses https://e.foundation which is an alternative build of Android but without all the google bits. I also run an adblocker on this phone because ads because ads are bad.

What does Deezer use to generate these alerts? Why does Deezer not offer a direct download link to the .apk ?
