It is beyond mind-boggling that Deezer has changed the way the sort feature works when you create a playlist and on your active playlists.

You can no longer sort A to Z.  I have over 200 playlists with thousands of songs. How the hell am I supposed to find anything , many people like me want to look at a playlist alphabetically and then tap on the songs we want to hear as we're exercising etc .

You have to use the ridiculous default of listing by album in a world where nobody cares about albums anymore... Only someone who is a very basic music fan and doesn't create playlists of any depth would ever make a change like this. This is a music service for music fans. How can you think this kind of thing is okay?!!

Change this back Deezer and I'll work as a consultant for free, because I actually use your app....a lot. My lord!

Yas, i was shocked too, why would they canceled that it is out of mind, like they instead of improving deezer try to make it worse

whit an increase of price of subscription i am thinkinh if it is worth it

Glad the team decided to change it back. It was great before.

Daft decision to scrap it. Great decision to put it back!

On the subject of sorting - I am totally cheesed off with the totally cavalier attitude Deezer has with sorting - particularly of classical music.  Take for example a fabulous album from Herbert von Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker.  When you want to play this album, you get a hodgepodge mix of tracks - not even the same symphony movements are in order.  AND, when you create a playlist and try to ARRANGE the tracks yourself  - you can’t even see the full name of the track unless you play it and wait for the scrolling marquee to reveal the last half of the track title (where the movement number is - there’s generally 3 movements in a symphony).  So a “do it yourself” playlist takes hours to create, because you have to listen to each one and wait till the scrolled title reveals the info you need to sort it.  On the album mentioned, there’s 35 tracks.

Even on a Mac, in Safari, with all the screen real estate of a laptop, you still never see the entire track name.

I know to all you hip hop afficionados out there, this is never a problem - you can always see the entire track names  - and I daresay it is irrelevant what order the tracks are played, but for more serious music, particularly instrumental, the composer puts the tracks in the order they SHOULD be listened to, and for classical it is VITAL.
With regard to the impact track sorting has on performance - please, don’t make me laugh - thats just a complete furfy.

I am going to trial Apple Music to determine whether it has a better system for organising my music.

Hi @runaway_croaky05! Thanks for bringing this up!

I’ve already forwarded your feedback to our tech team so they can take a look.

I’ll keep you posted if there are any updates or solutions.

Well, I have no idea how Tom Hiddlestone or Huddlestone is relevant to the issue, but I have tried Apple Music and lo and behold, the tracks for the Beethoven album mentioned in my previous post are all readable in their entirety even on a phone, and they are sorted correctly - gee, that sorting must have been such a performance hit …  NOT.
One thing I will mention though is that the audio quality of Apple Music - even lossless - seemed noticeably poorer than the Deezer version - so much so that I checked the album’s recording year to make sure I was playing the correct album. In Apple Music, I air-played  from my laptop to my media centre - which is a Denon DRA 800H.  With Deezer, I use the HEOS App provided by Denon.  Therein may lie the difference in quality.  I have yet to try a direct connection.

BTW - what’s that small graphic on my avatar icon?  Does it serve any purpose? Can I get rid of it?

There is a way to see the full track name of classical music movements if you share the track and choose the option on the right side in the popup:

This will open up a new page in your browser where you can scroll down and check the full track name:

Complicated, but possible at least. I surely would also prefer to have a popup showing the full title when hovering it in the play queue or on the playlist or album page.
