Hi Deezer Community,

I left Deezer a while back to try Qobuz when they launched, but I've come to realize that their customer service is lacking, and the community there hasn't been very welcoming. Now, I'm looking to come back to Deezer and start fresh.

I'm considering deleting my old Deezer account and creating a new one, but I want to use the same email address. My main goal is to reset my Flow data and rebuild it from scratch.

Can anyone confirm if it's possible to sign up again with the same email after account deletion? Also, will deleting the account ensure that all Flow data is completely wiped, so I can start with a clean slate?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @MJmusicguy you should be able to do it but as our superusers mentioned above, you’ll need to start building your music library from scratch.
But you can always transfer your music from Qobuz to Deezer

Hi @MJmusicguy !

If you delete your Deezer account then all data, settings, favorite tracks and playlists will be permanently deleted.
Deleting your account is irreversible and you will not be able to recover it .

Flow data will be completely wiped but I'm not sure that you will be able creating new Deezer account with same email .

Hello @MJmusicguy ,

As @Nina Nebo has explained above, the action is irreversible. About whether or not you can reuse the same email to create a “fresh” account, the best way to know that is to try it with temp email and you can share that feedback with us.

Additional Notes:

Different companies have different privacy policies and legal data retention policies for every region. Sometimes (and I’m not talking about Deezer, it could be any company) when you delete your account, while for sure you will never be able to recover it, there can be laws that require the company to retain some information for some period, for instance in the EU is at least 6 months - meaning if you were to delete your account from a company in the EU or one that has its servers there and the company adheres to this policy, then your data will only be fully wiped after 6 months from deletion date, despite you losing irreversible access to it the moment you deleted it.

With this knowledge, you might not be able to use the same email address until this period lapses.

Since you can't totally  clear your Flow except by deleting your account ,  maybe you can improve it !?
