I wonder if the song selection algorithm of the Flow playlist changed recently.
I have the impression that, it is now suggesting way more mainstream songs and less song related to artists I like (added to Favourites).
Example, I have now a lot of French classic pop songs (France Gall, Johnny, Francis Cabrel, Michel Fugain) compared to what I was used to. I used to have way more electro pop.
I have a few french classic pop artists in my playlists and favorite. Still, I don’t think that I listen or added to Favourites more of this style of music over the last weeks or months. I don’t think that other people from my family using my Deezer account did.
I know this feedback is only based on feeling but I hope it still help.
I’ve been with deezer since ’21 and Flow is probably my favorite feature. It is something I use every day. I’ve been here for a number of iterations as the devs and staff have tweaked it in response to listener feedback. In all of those instances, it was immediately apparent that the algorithm had changed.
That said, I haven’t noticed anything lately that would indicate a similar change. I will say that Flow is sensitive to changes in my listening habits, though. After listening to some live albums, I’m getting more live performances in my Flow. If I listen to a few albums from an artist, that artist and their genre will tend to be a bit more prevalent. So maybe just give it a little time to see if it levels out.
