Not equal features per country

I noticed there are quite some differences for different countries, but the price is the same, which is not fair, especially when competitors provide similar experience with lower price. Even plan options differs e.g. in my country there is no Duo plan selection and I cannot understand why. Why is that?

Hello there @geduxazz

Deezer prices are not the same everywhere.

All businesses, including streaming services, vary their availability for plans, products, and their pricing structure. This is just basic business. You don’t try to sell ice cubes in the Arctic and groceries are more expensive in Hawaii than they are in California.

I see you are in Lithuania, which is, comparatively, a tiny market (a smaller population than the city of Los Angeles). It makes perfect sense that options might be more limited. Deezer is not available at all in some regions.

Other streaming services also tailor their available options and prices for the region. And the (unnamed) corporate behemoths with an unimaginable amount of capital behind them have more flexibility to absorb losses. They will also just not service a region that doesn’t look profitable.

Whatever you decide on, thanks for looking at Deezer and giving it a try.

Enjoy your music.

I fully understand, there are many factors which can impact which features are available in which country, especially when there are external dependencies. However, I don’t understand why such thing like Duo plan cannot be available in all countries, knowing that it’s pretty easy to implement.

@geduxazz i'm not privy to the business decisions or marketing strategies at deezer, I'm just a fellow subscriber such as yourself.

But if I had to guess, I would say it doesn't have anything to do with ease of implementation, but rather that it's another discount plan in a market that is probably already losing money.

Duo has never been available everywhere, and for a while it wasn't available at all. So I think its availability is based on markets that are already profitable, or where deezer is trying to make inroads to gain new subscribers and market share (the US comes to mind).
