Hi,

Does anyone have a working way to actually choose and play music on an Echo device through deezer?

I purchased Amazon's Echo Studio and setup the Deezer skill in Alexa. It is an absolute heap of garbage. I cannot choose songs on the Alexa app and am limited to voice commands or previously played content (through Alexa) where Alexa straight up ignores what I asked and plays something else. Why does Spotify have actual integration into this service while Deezer has basically nothing.

I tried creating a Playlist in deezer, and that doesn't work with Alexa.

I tried using Bluetooth to play through the Deezer app and the sound is very quiet, quality is poor.

I tried using Deezer Connect and it doesn't find the Echo Studio. I dont know whether to return the Echo, cancel Deezer or both. Just a terrible experience all around. Extremely disappointed. I was planning on listening to music today, not yelling at Alexa.

Edit: AND Deezer got rid of their Fire TV app. Just perfect. Great work guys.

Hi @DL92 thanks for your post and sorry to heat that you are struggling to use Alexa voice on our Amazon's Echo Studio.

There are indeed some issues when playing content requested via voice as system keeps delivering live versions instead of the radio version, but other request play fine.

i just tested a couple of requests on Amazon Echo and on Sonos speaker and they worked fine.

Please have a look on this article if it helps - Alexa on Deezer and Alexa Voice

Regarding the connection with Bluetooth, make sure the audio settings you have selected - Alexa Audio settings.

If you have an Equalizer activated, try to deactivated.

Finally, regarding Deezer Connect, that feature for now, only allows connections between mobile devices and PC.

I'm sincerely disappointed that there is no answer to this.

Does Deezer have an android version.of the app at all? Preferably one that supports horizontal viewing and hi fidelity streaming in apk format?

I see the lack of a proper connect to Alexa has been a feature request for years. I’m trying to drop Spotify because I live in Canada and don’t wanna send any more money to the USA given the president of that country immense disrespect towards its northern neighbour. I think there’s probably a lot of people like me in Canada right now, I’d love to come to Deezer or some other non-US service, but it has to have the right functionality. And being able to stream to Alexa, etc., is core functionality. And yes, if there was a non-US version of Alexa or Google Home or Apple home, I would be there too.

Okay, it’s not just me, who has a problem with Deezer Connect and Alexa.

I have contacted Deezer support 5 or 6 times about it, and every time I’ve got a completely useless AI-/bot-answer, and I have not yet been able to “talk” to a real person.

It’s SO disappointing, that Deezer and/or Amazon doesn’t deliver, what they’re promising and now “forces” me to switch to Spotify (which works right out of the box with Alexa and multi room streaming).

I struggled a lot with Deezer/Alexa skill when trying to use in two languages. I have both 3. and 4, generation Echos. The problem was that I configured the system to use language combination English/Spanish thus allowing to use both. In Deezer skill  I want it to recognize artists and song titles in both languages.

I can speak to the system in Spanish and generally everything else works fine apart from Deezer if I request a certain playlist, artist or song. Such a request produces a response that the artist or playlist in question can not be found in Deezer. Basic commands in Spanish work though and if I request for favorite music, next song, or ask what is the name of the artist, Echo works ok with Deezer.

To request a specific artist or playlist, I just have to do it in English for some reason. Then any artist or playlist is found. The good thing is that despite of speaking English, the song titles or artists with Spanish names are properly recognized.

I have one generation 3 echo (the rest are gen. 4) and strangely enough, my gen. 3 allows me to speak and request songs in Spanish though. With gen 4:s I have to speak English when requesting a certain artist/playlist from Deezer in order it to work properly.

I assume that at the end of the day the problem is somehow copyright related and the language selected has to match the region more or less. Since I now have a workaround for my situation though, I can live with it.
