- Can you confirm if you have enough internal storage to allow for Deezer to cache content for a smoother playback?
- You can press Settings on you remote then select:
- All Settings > General > Devices > TV Management > TV Information
- Scroll Down and check “Available Internal Storage” - make sure you have decent space left.
- Another issue could be an outdated or corrupt Deezer install, can you update or reinstall Deezer.
- Another issue could be an outdated TV Firmware, make sure you have all the latest updates installed
- If all above don’t solve your issue, you can perform a hard reset:
- Press and Hold the Power button on your remote for 10 seconds
Thank you for the reply.
I checked the internal memory and it says I have used 0.73/2.74GB
I tried reinstalling Deezer - no change
The latest TV firmware is installed
I don’t wish to do a hard reset on the TV as I am certain that is not the cause and I would lose all my settings
Deezer used to work just fine and now it does not. I am thinking that a recent TV firmware update has broken the Deezer app and Deezer have not updated their app for years!
I even tried to run Deezer through the LG web browser, but it does not play anything! :(
I guess I will have to just keep using my phone until Deezer decides to update their very old app or go over to Spotify (which I don’t want to do!)
I am disappointed with the LG Deezer app anyway as it lacks flexibility and function is pretty basic and outdated
Hi @Ahari, thanks for your message.
Could you tell me if your TV is connected to your network via your Wi-Fi or via cable and also could you check if you have strong signal on your TV?
Hi, my TV is connected via LAN cable to my home network and gets actual speeds of over 80Mbps. Even if I disconnect the cable, the wifi is 5 bars at about the same speeds. The router is right next to the TV.
Basically my internet is excellent and very stable. The Deezer app used to work well up until about 6 months ago I guess. My best guess is that LG updated the WebOS as they often do and as a result something no longer works with the now very old Deezer app
I am new here, so I don't understand why my question was marked as answered.... it was not me!
I got some suggestions, that I had tried already, but no answer to my problem yet
Hello @Ahari sorry to hear that the recommended steps didn’t work.
I tried to reproduce the an LG TV I have at home, and for me works fine. No buffering.
Here and there when I notice some buffering, I just clean cache. It makes me logging back again, but beside that, all works good.
So, can you please try that and see if there is any improvement. Thanks
Thanks for the reply. How do I clear the cache?
Hi @Ahari, to clear app cache on your TV, open the Settings screen.
The next steps will depend on your TV menu options: Select Deezer app.
Select Clear cache then OK. ...
Select Clear data then OK.
This action will remove any temporary files that could be causing the issue.
Thank you. I cannot find anyway to clear the Deezer cache on my TV. I have reinstalled it a few times with no change.
I think I am going to have to keep using my phone until Deezer decide to update the now very old 2021 version of the app for the LG TV. This is very annoying!!
Hi @Ahari , the procedure I shared to clear the TV cache is a general one.
However, please note that different TVs may have their own specific methods for accomplishing this task.
Thanks for the help. I've given up on using Deezer on my TV now. I've wasted too much time on a lost cause. My phone works much better anyway.…
Thanks for trying
Hello @Ahari sorry that you wasted your time trying to figure out a way to solve the problem.
As you mentioned that recently you had a update of firmware on your TV, that might indeed be the problem.
I check other support tools that we have here and couldn’t find more users complaint about the same experience. So could be related to that specific model with that specific firmware.
As I said, on my old LG TV from 2017 I don’t have any issue playing Deezer.
When you have a bit of time, could you take a video or screenshot of the issue.
Also can you take a screenshot from your settings menu, where it shows firmware of the TV and model.
I can share all these details with our engineers see if they are aware of something.
I know that you don’t want to do the hard factory reset, but maybe that might be the way to solve the problem. But I can be sure of that.
