Deezer not working on Fitbit: unexpected error occurred

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and i just purchased a Fitbit Versa 2. I have tried for 2 days straight to get Deezer to work on the watch with no luck.

I get to the point twhere i type the activation code from the Deezer app onto my Versa and then it says “Link accounts” - every time i do this I get a message “Uh oh, unexpected error occurred”.

Can someone please help!!

    Hey @Karl Cross

Thanks for reporting it, @Rob Igo told us too. We're aware of the issue and our devs are investigating this at the moment. Please bear with us and keep updated here :v_tone2:

Hi. This seems to be working as of this afternoon. I'm not sure if the Devs corrected it,.or it sorted itself. Either way. Thanks for the support 😊

    HI @FionaStander

can I check that you have a paid (not free) account with Deezer? (e.g. premium).

I'm a "Deezerhead" (fanboy) and just love music! (Please note even though I love all things Deezer I do not work for Deezer and therefore cannot assist with account issues etc.)

Is this a known bug and is there a standard fix? I'm running into the same issue and I've tried everything I can think of - I get the screen saying an unexpected error occurred but the Fitbit still app seems to think it worked, so I can download the music onto the versa but can't open deezer to listen to it 😣

    Hi @Hilary Elizabeth

ok so the fitbit app is seeing your Deezer playlists, you’re selecting the ones you want to transfer, you can “force sync” (it’s an option in a submenu) and the playlists transfer?

do they show on the Deezer app on the watch, but then you try to play and get the unexpected error?  If I’m incorrect then please give more details step by step so we can pinpoint when the error occurs! :)

After linking my Fitbit versa 2 to my premium Deezer account I get "uh oh an unexpected error has occurred". Wondering if there is a known fix for this issue.

    Hi @Sweetroxy63

I’d disconnect your Deezer account from Fitbit and remove the Fitbit app from your watch, restart it and then re-install the Deezer app on your watch and then link and start again.

    Here’s some links: -

    Fitbit get Started - https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000571689

and use Use Deezer on Fitbit - https://en.deezercommunity.com/your-account-and-subscription-5/fitbit-downloading-removing-and-listening-to-music-9067

Let us know how you get on :)

A few days ago I bought a new FITBIT versa 2 with the Deezer app already installed, when I launch Deezer on my bracelet I get a message that the app is installed and go to the site www .fitbit.com / deezer and enter in my smartphone the Activation code. iOS phone Dezzer for Iphone but keeps telling me that the code is incorrect and that I do not have any device installed on Deezer itself. Although I can listen to music when running on my phone, but on Fitbit it constantly sends code and I cannot manage music on a smart watch.
I'm wrong somewhere, but I have no more patience or time

    Hi @Rudi

I’m currently facing the same problem as @Sweetroxy63, and I did all the steps that rob suggested, as well as factory resetting my Versa 2. I still keep getting an error message on my Fitbit app. Kindly let me know if there is something else I can try.

    Hi there @zoya

Sorry to hear that. Have you looked for a firmware update in the meantime? This could be a bug, we're trying to get more info from our users. If you have the most recent firmware, could you please give us the version?
