Is there a time frame for Deezer HIFI Heos support?

I am also happy that finally this got implemented after so many years!

Since today there is a HEOS update which integrates Deezer HiFi and Tidal Connect. First you need to update the HEOS App and afterwards run a firmware update to version 3.34.240. More here: https://support-uk.denon.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3832/~/latest-heos-app-and-firmware-update-available

I will test it the coming days …

Thanks for sharing your experience with us @heos I can imagine in Vietnam it must be complicated to return the device. But I can assure you we're also pushing for a HiFi improvement on this, their developers just need a bit more time :thumbsup_tone2:

I feel so cheated that I own 9 Heos speakers and 1 Heos Amp and now, anno domini 2020 I still have to download flac files, copy/paste to a USB stick to enjoy quality sound! And this just because that some software geeks could not find common language to make an audio codec understand an internet flow!!! It’s like rewinding a stuck tape casette with a pencil… I tried to output the deezer HIFI from a laptop to Heos Amp, but the laptop 3.5 mm jack is not really hifi…  I used a headphone amp Fiio that knows 24bit/192khz, but really??? So if I have to buy a laptop with an optical output, pardon me… it is cheaper to switch to Tidal, even it means pay more. What puzzles me is why Heos already has flac from Tidal and Amazon and you say that the problem is at Heos? How the hell comes the sound different from all these providers: via Moon , via Mars… via FBI, KGB???

Hi there @Lentzi

Thank you for reaching out to us about this.

Please refer to HEOS support for that. Our FLAC streaming is enabled for them, but if their app doesn't support it on their side, there's nothing we can do.

The good news is that our developers are up and ready to assist their counterparts at HEOS in case they need anything :thumbsup_tone2:

The way I see it, you probably need them more than they need you. Lots of people with HEOS equipment will look for streaming alternatives instead of changing equipment. It would be good for everyone that you try to insist that they do their part in order to get customers back, myself included.

We do @Silvestrus I've been looped in the chain of contacts our developers made to HEOS. Please bear in mind that it's their app and so, their development. We've been asking for this for a while now too. Thank you for your understanding :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi there @Lentzi

If you want to prove that you are not just giving polite answers perhaps you could tell us when was the last contact between Deezer and Denon and what was the last technical issue discussed. I am sure that among us, the clients, are some technical people that can "smell" the "bull-shiting" (pardon me!) OR, even better help you, us! 2 EURO may not seem much from Premium to HiFi, but I am sure that Heos users number is not small and this means more money that can go elsewhere, Tidal, Amazon...

Hi @Lentzi

Thank you for your honest feedback. There's also information which is commercially sensitive and cannot be shared.

But in sum, that was the last contact with HEOS, they're able to work on a feature which will adjust the audio quality according to the Deezer subscription (not give the option for the user to choose, for example). But that's development required on their side, so they need to add to their plans and that needs to be prioritised. I'm unable to give our community an answer on their development or plans.

There are other several manufacturer's who decide to add Deezer support to their equipment, via the public API and SDKs we have available for developers. They need to be taken accountable for this, not Deezer - unless it's a partnership where we actually contribute with our development too.

I trust you understand the above :v_tone2:

Well… today I updated the android Heos app and Deezer still shows 320 kbps. I rated the app with 2 stars and asked again about the Deezer hifi support. I just can’t wait to see if someone replies to that? Also, I asked this through the Heos app, got a ticket number but no e-mail notification that this is open or any update about it.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us @Lentzi

Let us know once you get a response - perhaps you can chase them with the ticket number you've got, as this is normal practice in similar companies, including Deezer :thumbsup_tone2:

Funny thing... that ticket number was only displayed at Heos app when I sent the problem, but now I cannot find it nowhere: at my gmail, at Denon .de , .us .ro sites, at Heos app . Even if I had noted the ticket number I could not find a Denon page to enter this.
