Here's a video that shows that the GUI freezes, after reopening it becomes responsive again.

Hey
Can you please uninstall the Deezer App, delete temp files (Windows Button -> Search “Delete Temporary Files” -> Remove files), reinstall the app. That should solve it.
Let me know how it goes!
Hi Jonathan,
I tried, but it is still happening. :/
Please make sure that:
After it, please delete the app again, reset the computer and install Deezer again to double check.
My Windows Deezer Desktop app (running on Windows 10) keeps pausing playback very frequently and it’s completely random. I see some other users had experienced the same challenge but I have not seen the solution as yet. Has anyone found a reliable solution to eliminate this playback bug yet?
It is not an internet connection bandwidth limitation because I’m running on a Fiber at 100/100Mbps and I can stream three 4K videos across three screens without buffering, so I don’t expect Hifi Lossless music streaming to be bottlenecked by the bandwidth - note, only one user on this connection, no other devices are utilizing the bandwidth in parallel.
Tidal running Lossless and even MQA on the same PC does not have this problem. Even when I run it in parallel with Deezer as I compared Deezer vs Tidal Hifi Quality.
Please help.

Seems like Deezer only cares about collecting revenue while not resolving user experience problems raised, 29 days later and no help from Deezer...right now I had to just stop playing music because the App just stops playing for over 10 seconds, then play for 2 seconds and stop again for another 5-10 seconds, this is ridiculous, I even tried listening via the Browser App through Chrome, it’s behaving exactly the same. Deezer does not want to really look into this problem, all they do is ask users to uninstall and install then repeat if it doesn’t work out…
The only reason I’m still choosing Deezer over Tidal is because Deezer’s lossless sounds better than Tidal’s Lossless playback...otherwise, I’d cancel my Deezer subscription because of this shitty software experience that Deezer doesn’t even want to acknowledge that they have a broken software that needs fixing rather than uninstalling and re-installing.
Hi Jonathan,
I tried, but it is still happening. :/
I found a solution that seems to be effective thus far, no issues over the past 10 days or so, I was annoyed so much that I almost unsubscribed, but the thought of sacrificing sound quality with the move back to Tidal Hifi as I had both accounts active once again...made me decide to analyze Deezer’s app behavior through Windows Resource Monitor under different conditions, I found that the app has inconsistent data throughput during those start-stop annoying moments, so I decided to try the following methods to try and eliminate any form of bottlenecks to the app’s bandwidth:
The above two changes to my system settings led to a seamless playback till date. Unfortunately, If only Deezer development team and tech. support could do adequate tests and analysis to better understand the cause of this issue and modify the app to work like other apps such as Tidal, Spotify etc. which I’ve used without ever experiencing this Deezer app specific playback problem.
Hope this helps other users too!
Still no updates?
Freezing happens all the time…...
Recently I cannot access albums anymore -_-
This software requires fixing!
Changed Windows Background Data setting to “Always”.
Where can I do this in Windows 10? I don’t find it
Added Windows Defender Firewall Inbound and Outbound Rules for Deezer app to explicitly always allow both In & Outgoing connections - just in case the app is struggling with firewall restrictions.
I also don’t see, how I can do that. My system is in German :0
Another bug is that when you open lyrics I cannot press the X to escape. I have to use the escape button instead.

It seems like it was a co-incident, Deezer still went back to the freezing a couple of days later.
That feature was located under settings->Network & Internet->Data Usage.
I’ve recently updated my windows from build 1909 to 22H2, unfortunately, Microsoft removed that feature in this updated windows version, that feature together with a few other features that used to be listed under the side panel below “Status”, “Ethernet” etc. have been removed. Unfortunately, I can no longer access that setting as well on Windows 22H2.
Deezer is just broken, the Chrome web player does exactly the same whenever the windows app misbehaves. I think it has to do with the way Deezer serves the music to these players, unfortunately, Deezer is not interested in even checking what the problem is.
I’m now finally reconsidering sacrificing the sound quality for stability, Tidal doesn’t suffer from this Deezer only problem, If only Spotify would get their Hifi option available sooner, I’d go back to Spotify instead (it has more of my type of music than Tidal and it’s the most user friendly software of the three)...right now I can’t even listen to Deezer over weekends due to this problem, during weekdays it seems better, it seems like Deezer throttles the streaming when there’s more users since I’d expect there’s more streamers over the weekend than during weekdays at night (when I usually stream Deezer almost seamlessly majority of the time).

Oh yes, mine’s doing exactly the same.
Another annoying bug is when the app decides to shuffle your playback without your consent, you try to play a specific track on your playlist, then a totally random track plays within the playlist.
Another bug is that when the playback is doing the play-stop-play-stop, the app freezes, if you press play/pause, it’s not responsive.
I wish Deezer did care about its customers, even just an acknowledgement of their awareness of these bugs and that they are currently working on resolving them, they are so common to users all over and over years they still remain problematic, all Deezer support are trained to say is “restart your PC”, “make sure your Windows is up to date”...like all these issues are the user’s machine’s problem according to Deezer, but if we look at the competition...Tidal for example doesn’t have these kind of problems running on the same machine...Deezer’s technical support is really terrible.
Today Marks the day I say goodbye to Deezer.
I’ve just re-activated my Tidal account, last time I reactivated it then deactivated it because I somehow still believed in Deezer, I was a “Die-Hard” Deezer fan but Deezer doesn’t give a pile about its customers’ issues, no matter how widely the issues affect its customer base, as long as they collect their monthly revenue.
I totally loved Deezer’s sound quality over the competition, but due to Deezer players’ (both windows app and web player, but more especially the windows app since that’s what I prefer using) multitude of well known and very old bugs that makes playback a nightmare...the most common being the “play-stop-play-stop” bug that’s been affecting almost every Deezer user on a random basis and Deezer is not even interested in fixing it despite the multiple app updates they issue regularly.
On the plus side, because of Deezer’s unreliability, I spent majority of my music listening time with Youtube & Soundcloud instead despite their lower sound quality, this made me build my Hifi system in a way to accommodate poorer sound quality sources without compromising much (one of the reasons I do not want to use a Valve preamp on my electronics - I’ve tested it on my system and it makes it makes lower sound quality material sound too bright/harsh), the system now sounds really great without sounding harsh while maintaining plenty of details you’d hardly tell it’s Youtube playing at times.
Maybe one day when Deezer decides to fix all those chronic bugs on their system, I might come back, provided Spotify Lossless is not yet available or does not compare well with Deezer’s Lossless.
Today Marks the day I say goodbye to Deezer.
Yea same for me.
Maybe you should consider Qobuz though. Tidal’s Hi-Fi is a hoax...

Thanks xlaub,
Unfortunately, Qobuz slaps me with a “QOBUZ IS NOT YET AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY” when I visit their website...so I’m stuck with Tidal for now, I actually left Tidal because of that, their MQA crap...but well, maybe Spotify Hifi will soon come to my rescue.
Probably at some point Spotify will rule them
Probably at some point Spotify will rule them
I’ve got made hope for that...they better sort out their revenue model as soon as possible, apparently their Hifi option is already being used by Spotify staff, Spotify was just low blowed by Apple opening their Hifi option to their users at no extra cost, hence Spotify took a step back in releasing their option to the public (i think their original plan was to charge a higher price for it), they just need to take a leap of faith...
