Chromecast not working for Onkyo devices

I have a couple of Onkyo devices with built-in Chromecast functionality. However, this is not working with Deezer. When I try to play on the Onkyo via Chromecast, Deezer states "loading" and never finishes, or only plays very short sequences (few seconds) of audio before loading again.
Bug appears for both beta and normal version of Deezer since a few month.

Please fix. This is working for me with Spotify, Google Play Music and many other music player apps.

    Hey @Melxiory

Sorry for the way you feel and for my reply in English - Russian isn't supported in the community at the moment. We've been working on a new integration for months and we're almost there. We should expect more updates by the end of the year :thumbsup_tone2:

There's a new Android app "Onkyo Music Control App" available in PlayStore that might work better with the integrated Deezer support (I can't really test this because my test subscription has expired, but the free radio channels seem to work fine).

So throw the Deezer app out of your smart phone!

I have all the above issues with my Onkyo TX-8260, it definitely is not the receiver... Spotify runs absolutely flawlessly either using my IPad, my Iphone or the remote controller (in the same stream)... the Deezer app is just not there yet!... and the funny of it is...this issue has at least 9 months old! Really?.. I moved to Deezer for the Hi-Fi and I tell you... when Spotify hits it... I will go back... to me is frustrating to use the spotify to find (easier) what I want to hear and then punch the keys in Deezer like if it was an ancient app! Deezer guys... please go to work on this! The app is really bad!
CHROMECAST is really bad in Deezer (Apple user myself)
the Onkyo controller really needs to integrate so you don’t “cast” the app is native in the receiver... guys... to me is a no brainer

I think it is more of a Chromecast Built-in problem on Onkyo. I’m having this problem from wherever I try to cast. Currently trying to cast from Roon. No luck. keeps on showing connecting connecting….. So when using Deezer.

I’m having general trouble with Onkyo NR676 and chromecast. There was a firmware update some time between 2017 and 2019 that seems to have broken chromecast. Even casting from Google Home Mini to the TX-NR676 no longer works after the firmware update.

    Hi there @Deon Snr @Benccc

Our work, as mentioned above, carries on. Hopefully, we'll have more news soon!

The same problem with Pioneer VSX-933 and Deezer, Google Play Music and other Chromecast-based casting. It's Onkyo problem not Deezer.

But also should say for some speakers with Chromecast built-in Deezer's implementation of casting works slower and less reliable that Google Play Music's.

Thanks for sharing @sashaacosta. You're right, but fortunately, we're working on a new way to cast to these devices. Hopefully, we'll have updates about this even before the end of this year.
