[BUG] deezer.com 100% CPU and RAM usage on firefox

When i try to access deezer.com using firefox 102.0.1(x64) on windows 10 the website attempts to load something and fails many times. This causes the tab to not resopnd; a steady increase in cpu and ram usage, that may eventualy freeze your pc.

Recreating this issue:
1. Open task manager. (use it to close the website before it freezes your pc)
2. Open an empty tab on firefox. Press F12 for dev. tools and open the console. (otherwise it won’t open at all)
3. Visit deezer.com.

Screenshots:
1. Empty firefox tab (1% cpu; 51% ram)
2. Using deezer for ~1 min ( 71% cpu; 80% ram)
3. Viewing console after closing the tab. One of the lines says there are 4552 cookie attribure issues.

Seems to me that Deezer technics have taken action because the problem is solved now! All works well over here.

Hi,

Same issue here : if i open a new tab and go to deezer.com, my RAM start to be filled of “something” as soon as i click “somewhere” onto the website.

Firefox 102.0.1(x64)
Windows 10 - 21H2 - build 19044.1826

“Funny” thing is that the memory continues to be filled for a few seconds after closing the deezer.com tab.

I’m having the same problem.

Last version of firefox, tested both at work on Windows 10 and at home on Windows 7.

When I open deezer.com, RAM starts going up as crazy, checking on task manager it has reached up to 4Gb before I forcefully closed firefox. Everything freezes until I finish firefox. If I don’t, RAM usage by firefox continues to go up until the whole PC freezes.

Same issue here. Latest Win10 updates and latest Firefox. FF complains that the page is slowing it down and gives you an option to stop it. If you leave it it will eat all the RAM until FF cant access anymore memory and crash.

Same with me. Chrome with deezer works ok. Deezer Desktop app also. Reinstalling firefox didn’t help. I am out of luck,. I couldn’t use system restore (win 10 to an earlier date). So I will wait and try again later.

Same memory leak issue, with the Deezer tab consuming 1+ gigabyte of RAM in just a few seconds. Latest version of Firefox (102.0.1), Windows 10 (19043.1826). Interestingly enough, the same seems to happen with Microsoft Edge, while Google Chrome works OK.

Same here, latest Firefox / Win10. It felt like the issue started yesterday. No problem with Brave Chromium.

I’m running Ubuntu (5.15.0-41-generic #44~20.04.1-Ubuntu) with Firefox 102.0 (64-bit) and have the same problem. Since there are no desktop app for Linux, I have to use Chrome as a fallback.

Same here with Chrome 103.0.5060.114 and Firefox 102.0.1, using Windows 10.

Solved here, using Firefox.  Merci, Deezer!
