Ability to set audio quality in android TV app

Hello there. I am new here. Despite being in 1st month trial I am gonna keep my Deezer HiFi. Its quality is outstanding in Tablet, Mobile and PC. But it is disappointing in Android TV and Android Box. I cannot set quality high enough for my ears.

It is not placebo nor lie. When I stream from phone/tablet to TV, it is distinguishable difference. Any ETA for putting real settings? I get it, PC and mobile are mainstream, but TV is also a part in our life. The only “setting” available is logout. Thanks.

Hey @perosmc thanks for reaching out and welcome :) I am really sorry but at the moment you will be able to stream in FLAC quality only from our desktop app and if you use any of the devices you find in this list accompanied by the yellow “HiFi” symbol.

You will receive the MP3 Quality 320 kb/s via all devices that don't support the Hifi Quality (1,411 kb/s).

At the moment we don't have a date available on when Hifi will be available on TVs as well, b I will pass your idea to our project managers and hopefully FLAC will be available on TV’s too :)

Hello,

Any update on this? When will HiFi be available on Android TV? I have expensive audio system hooked up to TV that is playing low quality sound…

While the Deezer app won't give you hifi you might be able to Chromecast from your phone to your TV and get hifi that way. My Sony TV shows hifi when casting to it but my Marantz receiver doesn't display the audio resolution on its front display so I can't say for sure that it's hifi.

@Rick P.  that works as a workaround!

That's good. I'm curious to know if your receiver reports the bitrate it's receiving from your TV - are you getting hifi this way? My receiver just reports that it's receiving a 48 kHz PCM signal over ARC - it doesn't show the stream bitrate being decoded.

On my Yamaha receiver I can go into Option menu and then select Signal Info. Unfortunately for bitrate it’s reporting -----, meaning it’s not displaying bitrate as if though it is not able to ascertain the bitrate.

Any updates on these ? Till now there is no HiFi in android tv

2 years and still no update on this. Better look for other options

Please let me know if your receiver reports the bitrate it receives from your TV - do you receive WiFi this way as well? Thank you very much for the detailed reply. It only reports that my receiver is receiving a 48 kHz PCM signal over ARC, but it does not display the bitrate of the stream that is being decoded.

My receiver reports a 48 KHz bitrate when using Chromecast, but given that Chromecast from Deezer has been broken for me since February of 2022 this comment is really academic. For hifi sound I now need to use different apps and services.
