The year 2024 is coming to an end and a lot has happened at Deezer and the Community

We had some amazing music releases this year. Beyoncé and Post Malone took us on a Country Trip with some amazing collaborations. Billie Eilish  hit us hard and soft with some incredible new sounds and Charli XCX delivered the perfect soundtrack for a Brat Summer!

We also had a lot of fun in our Community! 
 

We took you from the Top 10 Rock bands, The top songs to test your speakers to the Top 10 Christmas albums this year-
did you enjoy our Top 10 Series this year? 

We also have started our Community Club. Congratulations to the winners in the first 3 rounds so far and let’s see who’s the winner of the year in our final round in January!
 

For Halloween we created some fun games with our friends from Sonos! We loved putting together a spooky Halloween Playlist with everyone and giving away some amazing prizes! Hope to continue with some more events next year!

As a Super User, I continue to help people here in the Community—not because I have to, but because I genuinely enjoy it.

Seven months ago, I founded the Music Box group, which I’m incredibly proud of. This group features interactive music games that Deezer users and members of the EN Community can participate in and enjoy.

I also created the Deezer Community Dance Music Zone, a space for dance music enthusiasts to share their thoughts, insights, and everything else about dance music.

I’m always striving to create engaging content for the Community and encourage as many users as possible to join the conversation. Recently, I published two topics:

• "TOP 10 Songs With Really Long Titles"
• "TOP 10 Disturbing Album Covers"

I hope others find these topics as interesting as I do!

I’m excited about the new challenges and opportunities that await our Deezer Community in 2025!

What I Liked:

1. Rebranding: The new design is fantastic! Purple, my favourite colour, is a great addition to the app.
2. App Stability (Android Beta): The beta has improved significantly, becoming much more stable recently.
3. Music Selection: The library remains excellent, as always.
4. Search: Searching is noticeably faster now.
5. Explore Tab: Separating “For me” from general content makes finding music much easier.
6. Instagram Support: Direct help on Instagram is a great addition for quick customer support.
7. Friend Activity: I love seeing what my friends are listening to, especially when we share similar tastes.
8. Community: The Deezer Community has gotten even better this year, with active managers, frequent updates, and rewards like free subscriptions.
9. Album Refresh Fix: I’m thrilled the issue with the automatic refresh in the album section was fixed.

What Could Be Improved:

1. Album Search: The search bar disappears when scrolling, which is frustrating.
2. Player Background Colours: The colours are often too strong and clash with the artwork. Softer tones would be better.
3. FLOW: FLOW feels repetitive now, often playing songs from the same album. Deezer should bring back its original diversity, ensuring genres are more evenly spread.
4. Song Comments: Adding a feature to comment on individual songs would enhance the social experience.
5. Player Artwork Display: The current artwork cropping is unclear—this needs improvement for a cleaner look.

I’ll be candid, 2024’s highlights for me have nothing to do with my accomplishments, but for what deezer and its community have done, together. It never ceases to amaze me to see the little engine that could, a tiny French service that continues to grow and improve in the face of corporate behemoths.

In 2024, deezer showed subscriber growth again, as well as gains in momentum and performance.

The deezer community, including (most importantly) its subscribers, but also its community managers, developers, and all other staff, make this service what it is.

Editor-curated playlists, user feedback that actually matters.

To be able to reach out directly to staff and effect changes, both big and small.

I’ve only been with deezer since 2021, but my Flow and my recommendations, as well as my daily mixes, are better than any other service.

I enjoy listening to music on the service more than any other. As an American, this service is a breath of fresh air.

Here’s to more living the music in 2025!
