Volume normalization

Thanks for reporting this to us! What version of the desktop app do you have? Have you tried reinstalling it?

Could you also let us know if this is happening to the same tracks or random ones?

I have 4.23.1. No I have not tried that. It was my first time installation. Since I have enabled "Loudness Equalization" in Win 10 I am not paying attention to this. I think it was random. Mybe it is my sound perception and it just should be more agressive. Oh and it crashes from time to time - bang - no app, no music.

It was automatically updated to 4.24.0.0 yesterday by Microsoft Store so I will test it again. I am pretty much sure that the same problem is on my Android phone while listening via bluetooth in my car because I  turn volume up and down on my steering wheel too often. Because I use turn by turn navigation simultaneously it is so annoying. So maybe you should add options to normalize sound - soft, normal and agressive.

Good suggestion @nitrooo yes, with navigation it can be annoying. I was just hoping that our current volume normalization could work well for you too. Keep us posted and double-check the feature by toggling on and off to see if it helps 

I briefly enabled the Volume Normalization feature and experienced a wide variation in volume levels between songs, so disabled it pretty quickly.  It seemed to be doing the opposite of what was intended.

Though to be fair, I don’t experience wide swings in volume levels between songs even when not using the normalization feature, so I’m not really sure why it’s needed anyway.

This may be 3 years later, but the problem is not exactly solved. I have been having similar problems with volume. If i were to listen to a song, the instrumental and rhythm in the background are normal, but the vocals are very quiet. I have tried adjusting the headphone balance on my computer, but it still doesnt work.

I'm also having trouble with volume normalization. Some songs are still louder/quieter. For example, “One More Day - (Tribute to Diamond Rio)” from “Studio Allstars”, album “All American Country Volume 2”. It's way quieter than the others. But if you turn off volume normalization, it gets to the same volume as the others. This happens on Google Chrome and Android app.

And I'm getting different volume with other songs as well, just in a smaller scale.

Any news on that? I'm on Deezer trial and everything looks good except for this.

Trouble with volume normalization. Mostly using Win 10 Desktop app, and yes, re-installed it and nothing changes. This is so annoying that I’m cancelling my Deezer Premium subscription and go back to Spotify once again.

Nice idea, yet the basic problem is that the recording is too low. When you apply - for example - a volume boost to the track of say 125% ( to make it 25% louder ) then you will also make the background noice 25% louder. It needs more then just a MP3 Gain type of trick.
