My account has been hacked and the reason why I am here. Three years to implement mfa in this age is too much. Atleast have an option to integrate with a third party mfa if you can't implement your own systems.

It's really a pity that the developers of Deezer, after almost 4 years, haven't managed to set up a standard security such as 2-factor autogenification.  Account security is not a top priority for Deezer.  If things continue like this, Deezer will also lose me and others.

Dear Deezer product owner, have you lost your mind when you ask us to "vote on implementing" this security issue? 2FA is a standard procedure these days and I feel ashamed to tell anyone I use a service (for almost a decade now btw) that doesn't have two-step authentication. This is NOT a feature you ask users to prioritize, this is simply something you implement in your service if you know what you are doing in the first place at all.

I'm just wondering what other similar services have 2FA? Whether its a code to an auth app or via text.

Those that have their accounts hacked. Are the practicing best practice. Like having a complex password and not using that password or other places and also not falling for phishing pages?

This is a must to ensure Deezer may be secured and ensure all customers have peace of mind, and increase amount of subscribers. Please implement urgently.

Leider macht es auch wenig Sinn zur Konkurrenz zu wechseln, da gibt es auch bis heute keine zwei-Faktor Autogentifikation.

Hi there, thanks for your suggestion! Deezer is working hard to keep our app very safe and I'm happy to pass this feedback on to our devs 🙂

Any update on this topic mister?

2FA is the norm today and there is no good reason to not offer the functionality. With the recent (kept silent) data breach of one of Deezers prior data processors, you have an additional reason to make authentication stronger. Don’t leave the users in the cold !

You guys just disclosed a data breach that happened 3 years ago. There’s no excuse anymore to not add 2FA.

I really do not feel secure with simple login / password based authentication. When will Deezer have 2FA for its application and account. If you are not planning to have this feature soon, for me this will be one reason to stop using this service.

This needs to happen now! Everyone else has this, so what’s the hold-up?

Been alerted my my AV provider that my deezer details are on the dark Web.

Amazed there is no 2FA. Why not?

My account has been stolen once by some Japanese. I managed to reset password through email, but they already spoiled my recommendations by listening to something weird. Still no 2FA?

I stumbled across this thread because I wanted to set-up 2FA for my Deezer account, only to find Deezer do not have 2FA!? It’s 2023!!! Are you kidding?

Clearly Deezer do not take the security of their user’s information seriously.

There are many other music streaming providers out there that do offer 2FA.

I suggest dumping Deezer and moving to one of them, seeing as over 3 years since this basic security measure was requested, nothing has been done about it! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

How is there still to this day no MFA??? Passwords can only do so much, my account has been breached multiple times over the years despite having randomly generated passwords that go right up the character limit.

I unsubscribed yesterday from my HiFi tier because Deezer seems not to care about 2FA and also desktop app (terrible functionality, bugs and no exclusive mode). It’s time to move on.

Hi there @lordofthefigs

Thank you for your support. We're actually looking into this and other options to improve security, due to issues like the one you've had. It's very important to have your feedback so that the suggestion can take more priority

You should not rely solely on feedback from the community to prioritize the security of the millions of users you currently have; you should have the sense to do so yourselves. GDPR states that any entity handling personal information (such as credit card information) must take adequate measures to ensure the safety of that data, and with your total indifference I see heavy fines on the horizon, and they’re heading your way.

It’s been way too long already, just implement it. Thank you!

Can’t believe Deezer have not set up 2FA, this has been going for on 4 years. Just found out they were hacked and 240m account details, are circulating on the internet. Feel like cancelling my subscription, as fed up with getting hacked.

Crazy this was requested over 4 years ago and nothing has happened….. implementing 2fa is not that hard and nearly every website has it. Do it already, protect your customers!

Just switched from Spotify to Deezer because I was unsatisfied with nothing happening on this front for years now, just to find this thread… This must be a joke, right?

At this point it feels like this must be some kind of agreement between the services or in the industry in general to ease botting. I mean this is a fundamental feature to ensure the security of user accounts. Even some small online Shops I've been ordering on have this feature implemented, but two of the major music streaming platforms don't, even after users complaining for years now and account stealing, selling & bottling seems to be a problem?

What would be the point of 2FA for deezer?.
if you think 2FA you are probably savvy enough for using single use credit card numbers and unique passwords.
which brings the risk, should   your account information been stolen from Deezer to only expose an e-mail address.
Or am I missing something else?

Someone gained access to my deezer account a couple of years ago and used it as if it was their own. IDK how exactly. Messed with my recommendations and favorites. I got a letter form Deezer warning me that someone logged in from another hemisphere. I logged them out and changed my password ofc, but this situation wouldn’t be possible with 2FA.

Having kids is a bigger threat to my recommendations and favorites than any external force could ever be.

Well data on Deezer seems very leaky. Google tells me it's found my data in a breach that occured in January 2023. Time to sort it out. @Rafael.

This security leak from beginning 2023 is known and you can Google, this was the fault of an external partner. Now the bug is fixed.

I am sick and tired of 2FA on apps that don't need it. Deezer is one of them. What are people afraid of, that someone finds out they really really like the Go Gos? Who cares.
