Please can you just give us an option to shuffle all the songs in all my playlists - you don’t let us create large playlists so I cant even shuffle that either. I just want to be able to shuffle like I would have been able to on an iPod, without ‘new’ music slipping in.

My app still has it. Go to the ‘Favourites’ tab (heart icon, 2ⁿᵈ from the right at the bottom, and there's a shuffle icon in the top right corner. Let me check, it was there yesterday, but it may have updated… Yep, it's still there (the purple circle with two white arrows crossing). Mind you, I'm in the beta group, so my app might be different. Having said that, I would have thought it would have new features before they're released rather than keep ones that have been removed. Think about it: they remove the shuffle option for a release, then go to the trouble to put it back in for the beta version? That doesn't make any sense at all. Why go to all that effort? It's a very popular feature, so why remove it at all? It did disappear when they completely changed the look a few years ago, a major update, but there were a huge number of requests to have it put back and they did so within a week or two. So you really should still have it. I tend to use this option almost exclusively and live being surprised by a song I haven't heard in a long time. It selects tracks randomly from my favourite albums and playlists, particularly my favourites list. In fact some subs come up a bit too often. It's true that there isn't one just for playlists though, if that's what you were after.

I also haven't encountered a problem with long playlists either. I guess it depends on what you call long, but my longest is 240 songs. That's about twelve hours, long enough for me (and I'm still adding to it). You didn't say how long it short your playlists were, so I don't know. One problem that was there for a long time was a 999 albums limit. Whenever I added new ones, the old ones would disappear, although they'd still be marked as favourites. I'm still coming across albums that have disappeared from the list, but when I remove and add them again they're now showing up without losing older choices (my favourite albums list is now over 1,450 and growing. That's also how I can tell that older ones aren't disappearing: when I notice a dropped album I remove and then add it again and the counter increases).

I hope that's been some help and if not I hope your issue is soon resolved.
