Scrobble tracks properly to/Improvements to Last.fm integration

As Deezer neither uses the "Scrobbling now" feature (aka "NowPlaying" showing the currently scrobbling track with a yellow background in Recent Tracks) nor scrobbling after 50% of track length, you also have a gap on your Recent Tracks list of your Last.fm profile between showing the last scrobbled track and waiting for the current track to end in the Deezer web player or their other apps, as Deezer only submits a scrobble when the next track begins. This is bound to irritate users who are not aware of this, because you never see the currently scrobbling track on your Last.fm profile and so might think scrobbling isn't working at all.

Another pet peeve: please fix the missing ampersand symbol in artist and track names of your scrobbles, it still creates wrong entries in the Last.fm database like Marina the Diamonds, Florence the Machine, Derek the Dominos, David Lindley El Rayo-X etc. This might get caught by Last.fm's autocorrection, but only for known artists and tracks which already have been autocorrected.

Glad that the duplicate scrobble issue has been fixed but as the others have said before me, will the team be implementing these features to deezer as you guys said 7 months ago? I'm not trying to be rude but it seems you guys really drop the ball on really minor things that shouldn't take long to fix at all.

Also the ampersand issue is interesting because the tracks it scrobbles incorrectly link to weird artists if the artists have an ampersand in their title (e.g. Mumford & Sons becomes Mumford sons) but clicking on the artist in last.fm redirects you to the actual artists.

It looks like the Deezer API does not provide information about the currently playing track, so it may not be possible to use the related Last.fm API request for showing "Scrobbling now" in the Recent Tracks list of your Last.fm profile. Other than that I am quite happy with the reliability of Deezer's internal scrobbling, as it constantly submits scrobbles since the last hiccup in the new desktop app. Furthermore it seems to cache offline scrobbles during these hiccups, because the missing ones were added to my Last.fm profile afterwards.

This "scrobble when the next tract begins" also irritates people that skip to the next track. If you listen for more than 8 - 10 seconds of a song but then you skip to the next, your barely listened to track gets scrobbled. After a 5 minutes session of skipping through your own flow (because you're in a bad mood or something) you can end up with some 30 - 40 scrobbles 8 to 10 seconds apart. And then the shakespearean question arises "to delete the scrobbles or not?".

Yep but in my case it's almost always a definite delete. I've been using Pano Scrobbler on my phone to edit and fix scrobbles with the ampersand issue. It's really quite annoying when you listen to albums with 2 or more featured artists and you have to go through so many tracks to get it to scrobble right.

Weird that some specifc songs with comments in parenthesis at the end of the track refuse to scrobble that part.

All I Want - Dawn Golden, instead of, All I Want (Manila Killa Remix) - Dawn Golden
Test Recognise - Seekae, instead of, Test & Recognise (Flume Edit) - Seekae

The last one has both the ampersand issue and the partial title dropping issue but I thought I'd mention it anyways. As far as I can tell this issue only really happens with specific tracks (maybe they aren't tagged correctly in Deezer's database?)

FYI: Last.fm subscribers can edit the scrobbles in their libraries now, see this announcement:

This means that you can correct the mistakes that the internal Deezer scrobbling option makes on your own, e.g. adding "&" in missing artist, album and track names or adding and/or deleting any "Remastered..." tag. Of course it would be better if Deezer fixes this, but at least you have an option now to clean up your library this way.
